The fire should always be there, I don't know if i can reproduce the bug you are having.

And just copy your prof1.dat from that folder to the new folder.

I just played the game normally the whole way. Well, except in Chapter 4 where I got the Gun Parts. (Which was somewhat cryptic BTW, got it by accident) But other than that, I played in your game's boundries.
EDIT: Just got to Chapter 5 again (with portal gun) same thing as last time. Dunno what's wrong.

That bug doesn't actually surprise me, and I only have to edit 1 script to fix it. I will edit this post when I fix it and upload .504

Unrelated, but having watched that youtube video with these really, really nice speakers showed what you did with the stereo bouncing in that song. Impressive, I was getting lost in it

Finally got around to playing the new version

Played it on Normal. Only issues I found were some mispellings and possible capitalization text issues.

Snowboss was .... super easy? I did have the upgraded blocky gun. He merely jumped from one side of the screen to the other, and after a bit did a machine gun snowball spray; which had no effect thanks to the blocky gun~] Then he jumps back to the entire other side.
I've only fought him once so far~

Is he supposed to jump to random places on the screen? Or use other attacks? I need to replay

Snow area was quite fun, and loved the Sonic Icecap Zone music lol.
Hardest level currently for me was the Rail Way? place. Kept falling until I got used to it.

Worm boss was pretty epic.

Curly doesn't help me fight? She doesn't shoot as she follows me... [Awesome feature btw; Makes me think of Sonic 3 even more, since when Tails falls off the screen he comes right back.]

The dream custscene was sick! Can't wait for more xD
btw, I avoided talking to Blocky because I feared he might force me to move on with the plot, while I was still playing those awesome Carnival games xD

The snow effects... the sliding on the ground... so nice...
Penguins make a funny sound when they leap...

(OH btw, the autofire for the guns made it SOO much easier this time around... almost too easy?)

Did you ever get the game translated into Japanese and get Pixel to give it a play?

The snowboss does have more attacks, so maybe you just got lucky. He's very easy with the upgraded gun though.

And yeah Curly doesn't help you because that would be cheap. You could let her do all the work in certain spots. More importantly though, it's hard to program/hack in.

And I just finished the japanese translation, you can get it from the blog or from the doukutsu uploader.

I don't know about getting Pixel to play it though, as far as I'm aware he likes to pretend mods don't exist.

Yes it was a shameless bump...

That puzzle was pretty tricky. If the aspect of drowning wasn't bad enough, reduced jumping ability and order of hitting switches sure do trip you up easily.

I think this is the best Cave Story mod I've played.
Is there any other mods like this I could try? You know, total conversions?
