Uh, quick issue... I'm trying to replace the FANFALE2 org with a different track
(This one -> FANFARE)
But it isn't working. It just goes right back to the previous ORG played...

Was the Cave Story modding software still open when you put the song in and then you saved in the program after you saved the new executable?

Does the org have any weird drums that aren't part of the normal setup? (I'm too lazy to download/match it with one that works)

Sometimes it skips if it can't play it do to that.

drum setup is bass01, snare01, hiclose, hiopen, tom01, per01, bass01, bass01 in that order
trying to use either of the final two drums at all crashes the game too

It has no drum tracks in it at all.

The last two drum tracks are "Ride01" and "Snare08" (both not compatible with Cave Story). Try switching those to Bass01 and see if that helps.

Hello, I'm new to the forums. I'm trying to teach myself how to mod Cave Story. So far I've figured out how to:
  • Add chests and have them work properly.
  • Add doors.
  • Change messages.
  • Change the look/layout of the map.
Now I'm trying to figure out how to add teleporters and have them work properly. I can get them to effectively teleport, but the exiting animation for the teleporter makes the teleporter disappear. The entering animation doesn't appear at all and the player just shows up in front of the teleporter.

Can someone explain why this happens and how I can fix it? I added two screenshots in the document below.

There is an npc that is near the quote ones, just make a null entity, then make it change to one of them. You also have to animate the teleporters... Just look at the ones that already exist, that's how I learned...

how do I change the title screen song? like I know I can edit the org in which the song is from but I just simply want to not have any music playing.

Okay, this is a big order here, but is it possible to have all weapons, except for the polar star, to share the same ammo, the one that drops for the missile launcher? It would all use the same stockpile of ammo, and they could take different amounts. Also, there would be no level up, or experience. Is this even possible, and if it is, could you tell me how? Thanks regardless...

That would be rather difficult, but possible. I think you would have to do a lot of hacking... Well, if I have some spare time, I'll see if that can be done without too much effort. Because, uh, yeah, too much work is too much, heh.

Edit: Do you need it quickly or can it wait some time? Or, in other words, is it for the contest mod?

Yeah... It's for the contest... I could post the current EXE if you want. Note that there is only the first starting point done right now, from there on out it's regular Cave Story. I'm playing it smart by keeping the map and flag order intact, therefore I can just
re-utilize the flags and other things...
