I don't like the way you guys disrespect pixel's artwork. It's like disrespecting the whole game at all. I like all the upgraded sprites so far, as long as they are drawn by the author.

Pixel rox.

 

I have respect for Pixel, a ton of it.

That will not stop me from saying what I do and do not like.

 

I personally think it's very funny that you're all disappointed by Curly's sprite
In fact I love it that you're all disappointed.

I never said I didn't like it, I rather DO like it infact. Maybe that just didn't come across in my rant against the people that thought she was fat (xristosx) which upset me because it was a good sprite, a great job by pixel. But ristos has the right to his opinion, so I shall unwillingly accept it.

Also the person who tried to redo it in MSPaint did a pretty good job, but if it took you 1000 hours (seriously, it hasn't been 1000 hours since the original sprite was released) then yes you need to get better with MS Paint. Still prefer the original though, just for the "authenticity" of it (aka it was BY PIXEL).

 

The 1000 hours in ms paint is so obviously a joke(from 4chan but that's not important) that it's seriously hilarious that anyone would consider them serious.

Gosh, so much hate for the new Curly sprite? Shame on you guys!

I REALLY don't see why anyone's complaining. For crying out loud, these sprites are ZOOMED in and not actual size. (if my math is correct, the sprites are blown up 800%)

Seriously, can you guys actually see the details at their true resolutions?

If the remake was to be made on PC, these would be their actual size, 32x32 pixels. (using 96 pixels per inch)

By the way, the older versions are on the left of the pink line and the newer ones on the right. Redrew each sprite by hand and repositioned the new ones to match the older placement. (feet, body match up in position)

 

I like the new Curly sprite, actually.

 

They're not that bad, they look like they follow pixel's style perfectly (cuz pixel drew em).

Just to clear up the statement above Amaya-san IS personally drawing the characters. The Curly shown on the blog is 100-percent Pixel.

 

Yes, it has been mentioned quite a few times that pixel is personally doing the sprite revamps.
