I'm actually not saying she looks fat at all. I think she looks quite slim. What really bothers me is that face... /me shudders

Hmm, the new sign graphic looks interesting... that doesn't look like Japanese writing, though, does it?

how ironic that the only thing I loved about the modification is the signboard. (and what Jester Frog mentioned with a spoiler tag)

The blocks and rocks in that gif look quite good.

It's called Mimiga Writing!
This may prove that Mimiga ruled the island.

Of course it doesn't look like Japanese writing. It looks like squiggles to represent writing. You can't have all the signs, which all say something different, have the same words actually visible on them. That's a pretty common technique, as far as I know.

Well of course it's not words. But it doesn't look even vaguely Japanese to me.

Well I'd say it looks vaguely japanese.
The first part looks like a hiragana "u", and the last part looks like a hiragana "n". The middle part looks illegible tho, possibly the two lines being a Kanji "ni", but that'd be stretching it.
Still, it's supposed to look completely illegible.

Of course it's supposed to look illegible.

That way, the same sprite can be used for ALL signboards :(

And here's something relevant to the link Jay City posted.

And yet more relevant stuff posted by someone disappointed by shrinkage.

Hmm... Wonder where that person got the sprite art for the Polar Star? I haven't found a screenshot with the updated gun...

That polar star is prolly fan-made. Moreover, I don't like it at all. It's longer than the old one and doesn't resemble the revolver-like gun...

Actually, it's not longer, but it's somewhat edited to make it look longer.. I hope someone understands what I mean lol

Heh, looks like Cave Story is evolving from a hybrid NES/SNES game to just a SNES one! (seriously, that font was SO overused during that era!)

Here's to hoping that the MIDI they use turns out to be a masterpiece like Twilight Princess!
