Is there a limit on how large a background image for a map can be? I noticed that bkMoon was quite a bit larger than the other background images, and am curious to see if I can make something larger than even that.

bk moon is the size of the game window, so if you have it bigger than that and the background is static, it won't matter. other than that, you could probably make bigger background image that works

Hey does anyone know the offset or value for the maximum amount of entities in one map? I'm sorta having trouble with entities spawning and the limit being reached too quickly before they can despawn. Does anyone know how to increase the maximum of entities?

Why in the world would you need that many entities in one map?

Maybe because entities spawn other entities? Also I wanted some sort of 'Bullet Hell' maps

Entities spawned other entities within the normal game and it was never a problem
Also I wanted some sort of 'Bullet Hell' maps
but you can achieve that bullet hell result with the same amount that is currently allowed. Hina made a couple mods that were bullet hells, and I don't think the maximum allowed entities was ever changed in either.

I just want a higher limit, okay? No offense, but you're kinda not helping.
I'm just curious as to why you would need something like this. if you are actually filling your maps up with too many entities then just separate them onto other maps, Booster's Lab lets you have way over 1000 of them (I think? its way more than anyone will ever use).

Hey does anyone know the offset or value for the maximum amount of entities in one map? I'm sorta having trouble with entities spawning and the limit being reached too quickly before they can despawn. Does anyone know how to increase the maximum of entities?

The game has a maximum entity count of 0x200 (512). After that it will stop spawning entities. Entities spawned by the map are spawned at index 0x0 (the beginning of the entity list), but entities spawned by other entities are normally spawned starting at index 0x100, presumably so that it has fewer entity slots in the entity list to search, since you need an empty slot to place an entity in.

Pixel was really a fan of using statically allocated memory, so unless you recompile the source code, you can't change the size of the entity list since its statically allocated.

I was joking about the disadvantages of your <IBF code :p
Also that boss battle really just looks like a mess.
That hex needs a bit of modifying, like so.

I automatically get infinite booster fuel that I can't turn off, could this be because I have IBF?
Also get the IBF hack and turn it on and check out the effect it makes, super cool.

EDIT: For some reason my version overwrites <IBF! Could you screenshot the effect of turning on both my infinite booster and the <IBF command?
EDIT2: Oops that version doesn't work try this:
EDIT3: Damn the equip slots won't work with values above 256; try using the <MIM command with this:
0x48BA10
8B 15 50 E6 49 00 83 E2 01 74 0C C7 05 E8 E6 49

49 00 FF FF FF 7F EB 00 E9 50 9D F8 FF 90
To set it, use <EQ+0064 or <EQ-0064, and of course you still need this:
0x415796

Too bad the command needs the <MIM command also installed to work; it requires a vacant equip slot, here's the <MIM command

Sure shit m8.

It also spams the usual booster sound.

OK, now I've applied ALL the hex you posted, and now the <IBF command does what it did before (I.e. infinite boosting but the sprite and sound effect only play once)
And without it on I don't have infinite booster fuel. It also doesn't work when I enable the old equip flag.
The new equip flag... errr.... WORKS! YISS!
Good to hear that it works now. I'd always thought that equip slot 512 would serve as an empty flag, but no. You need a vacant slot, which in this case is 64, vacated by <MIM.
EDIT: @Bombchu Link, why did you keep your <IBF command with all those disadvantages, when even I managed to make one without any?

Cool. Thank you very much for your contribution.
Now does anyone here know how to make NEW un-selectable?
Well, why would you want to do that?
