• Hey everyone happy Christmas Eve we're aware of what's happened with the source code so to keep this simple absolutely don't post it on the site or use it to make mods with (it's not particularly preferable toward this end anyway) and tread lightly in general until we see how this settles, thanks to all and have a great holiday season -DT

Well, now that I think about it more, he might not be.
I just always got lectured when I did something like that.

And yes, that is the problem.

What? You don't need to do that ever. The entities are just for controlling with <ANP. You only use the event set in Game Settings.

Well, without the event set to the character, it still doesn't work

Okay, so I experimented, and put <FAOxxxx after the anps and then watched the opening cutscene. It faded in then immediately faded out.:o

Another rule broken: don't double post.
Your problem is that you need <WAIXXXX's. Otherwise it only performs the event for a split second.

Do you have <WAIs between the <ANPs? I've made this mistake many times.

The amount of time you want the animation to go on. If you want a character to walk for 60 ticks for instance, you put in 0060 and then <ANP him/her to make him/her stand still.

The best way to find a good number is to experiment.

Also, have you read DragonBoots' modding guide? You really should read that and use the search function before posting here.

Try higher numbers, that's really, really short.

You're using their types instead of their event numbers, that is the problem you are having. You need to give your curly/quote an event number of like 300 and then use <ANP0300:etc.

How do you even know that? Wouldn't you need to see his map to know that?

EDIT: Looking back at his code, it is pretty obvious.

Do you mean 100s, 200s? I've gone up to 110 so far, and they're still staying still

<ANP0150:0051:0002<WAI0010
<ANP0117:0010:0002<WAI0010
<ANP0082:0030:0000<WAI0012
<ANP0150:0020:0002

Entity 150 is Quote, entity 117 is Curly, I know these. I'm assuming he thinks that the entity type goes first in <ANP, due to his script. I'm saying that if the entity that is quote doesn't have the event number 150 assigned to it, this won't work.

Yeah. I was thinking that 115 was Quote, but that must be the Quote teleport NPC or something. I just noticed that his numbers were very random. (117, 82, 150...)

This is getting ridiculous! I moved it to 400 and it still doesn't work.

Make sure the entity has the same event # as the ANP0400:YYYY:ZZZZ.
