Hello everyone. I present to you, the Egg Corridor Challenge. This is my very first mod, so there will probably be lots of bugs and glitches.

In this challenge, you have the starting weapons, the Polar Star and the Missile Launcher. You obtain the Missile Launcher later on, but I decided to add it in right when you start. Go through the Egg Corridor as fast as you can, and also note that you don't need to collect the ID Card to remove the shield blocking the boss. It is done automatically. After fighting Igor at the end, you win!

There is, however, a CS+ port of this challenge. Which the download link to that version is also included. Credit to @HaydenStudios for making the CS+ port possible.

I hope everyone enjoys this mod. :D

My problem with this mod is that it's a little too...basic.
For instance I have no idea what your potential is since there is nothing new in terms of gameplay.

Alright, I have to say that this is pretty good for your very first mod. But, this mod could still be better.
Alright first off, I like the idea that you immediately get missile launcher and full EXP right at the start, very good thinking there, also, good thing to add a hidden booster above where you start. Could be a nice surprise to people who like to explore mods.
But the question is, where is the music? You can’t have a mod without music, so I recommend fixing that. Blocking from going into egg 6 and 1, with the shield being removed automatically, awesome idea.
My best time was 1’00”8 with the booster. Changing what icon you get on the title screen would also be another good thing to add.
Overall, very fun, enjoyed playing it, nice mod for your firstie.

The problem is, it’s hard modding. The reason for that is because I am using Sue’s Workshop. This editor is a pain in the ass at some times. I will try to fix the music and the timer not resetting. Thanks for the suggestions!

Don't. That's all I gotta say here, don't. At least use Cave Editor or Booster's Lab, but not Sue's Workshop

Nice troll.

Please do not use Sue's Workshop! It's extremely outdated and tends to make mods uneditable with other modding software.
Booster's Lab is currently the most frequently updated tool, although many prefer Cave Editor's multi-window interface. (And you're not really missing out on much...)
If you want to change the music to the one I posted there you'll have to grab a resource editor—most people use this one—and replace the ORG file "WANPAKU" to change Mischevious Robot.
As for making the music play, I think it's <CMU0001.
Resetting the timer can probably be done with <EQ-0256?

Boosters lab? I’ll give that a try. What about Cave Editor?

What about Cave Editor?
Only use Cave Editor if you really want to. There are no advantages it has over Booster's Lab, but it's now all up to choice in preference.

I will go with Booster’s Lab. It shouldn’t be too hard to learn. Thank you!

If you fix the timer not resetting after completing it I'll try to get a new personal best.

I am currently working on the mod, I fixed the timer at the end, and I almost completed making the starting room. All I need to find out is how to use the <FLJ command.

You can read up on how each TSC command works in the side panel of the script editor in BL and CE (Booster's Lab and Cave Edit).
----
<FL+xxxx
Sets flag xxxx to true

<FL-xxxx
Sets flag xxxx to false.

<FLJxxxx:yyyy
If flag xxxx is set to true, jump to event #yyyy.
----
All flags are set to false by default. Flags 10 and below should not be used. Flag 8000+ cannot be saved and should not be used unless you know what you're doing. You can get a list of what flags are used in the game and where in Booster's Lab by using the "generate flag listing" option from the top bar. It'll spit out a text file in Booster's Lab's folder.

Alright, I will try those options. Thank you!

Oh, I see the problem now. Install 7-zip and make that the default program for opening .rar files.

Not really shown, but click on "Open With..." and select the program through the window that pops up in this gif.
