THAT'S NOT TRUE. (oh wait, yes it is)

There's just been an excessive period of downtime, what with midterms and christmas break and all.

Plus I like to have a lot of stuff to tell you guys when I do an update on the blog :) I don't update for the sake of updating.

Probably this weekend or sometime sooner you can expect a new entry.

It's location has been known for a long time (ever since we knew what entity number she was, and ever since that npc AI asm list has been out).

If enough interest is generated, I am willing to look at the code to see what makes her shoot specific entities (and how to customize/expand said list).

Official stupid question: Is it possible that the entities shootable by the AI Curly have a specific flag set on them for that purpose?

who knows, this mod could be as famous as the original game itself!

Oi, I just remembered an interesting glitch I found the other day, while using the portal gun.


I know, its not fully capable of handling the portal gun yet...

I'm not sure weather I want to report this... because I'm not sure if I want it to be fixed its pretty useful and interesting indeed

Might as well as report it anyways, since if it's an unknown glitch with its code, then it could pose problems later on.

well, ok.

If you use the gun to surpass the checkpoint/flag which forces the booster to break, you keep the booster, etc. We already know this.

But also, if you take the secret mission 3 entrance, it instead sends you to secret mission 2! Which allows you to get the RAM chip there again instead.

you also reappear in the tetris? place when you're done, which provides an interesting challange, considering: the screen wont move in the Blocky boss room, so you have to blindly find the door, AND the water in the room before the furnace is naturally maxed out, which means you have to use the portal gun and quick thinking to surpass this challange (which I was able to).

Anways, it doesn't hold up hte game, but:

Im not sure, but Its possible that you can KEEP doing the second secret mission, since it wouldn't naturally set the flags to block off the 3rd mission entrance.

Sounds like an interesting yet glitchy way to play the game.

Does that only happen when you skip the booster checkpoint?

Nice try, But I found that one first. I reckon that the best fix is that vice a flag being set at that point, having the events occur when you enter the room, that way, even if the player has the portal gun, he can't glitch the game. I hope that helps!

OH, also, I managed to get past the entire pipe fields without firing a single bullet on any enemy.

I think that sort of feat should make the grey robot in the next room change his dialog (since he says a number of units had died)

Not that hard.
Just set flag 200 on any killable enemy and then set it to an event that only sets a flag.
When you kill at least 1 enemy, the flag is set, changing the dialogue to say something different. ;)

Maybe they commited seppeku (SP?) because they failed to kill you?
