I know. But based on the number of enemies he's got, it'd be faster to delete them and place duplicate npc's with the right flags. for that one little feature, he's gonna be at it for about 15 minutes :3

Also, as I was playing through...
I only have one complaint...
The Testris level isn't random! D;

Ah well, still really fun.
Though if it was random, that'd be AMAZING.

attention to detail is important. if whatever goddess/llama/whatever you disbelieve in didn't pay attention to detail, you'd be a sack of flesh without any organs, and thus unable to make dumb comments.


Though if it was random, that'd be AMAZING.
easy enough, you'd just make a random jump tsc command, that goes to an event aboot half the time. Then you can knock yourself out with TSC. it's just a little bit of fwah

Making it random would be far more difficult than that, because that way it wouldn't neccessarily stack right. You'd need some kind of sick tetris algorithm to pull that off, wouldn'tcha?

God, that'd be one hell of a TSC script

Several standard templates that it picks from at random?
It could either be whole chunks, or randomly pick a different template for certain sections.
Of course, the current TSC script file is already HELL, I couldn't imagine anything more being added to it....

Yes, but it wouldn't be that hard to do. Sure, the script file would be hell on wheels, but that'll just make it more interesting.

I've gone through the hours it took to script that room once, I'm not about to go through it again.

And also, if I REALLY wanted to make it random and stuff it would actually be easier to code in tetris blocks that were entities and make it like an actual tetris emulator. It is just THAT HARD to script. (sooooo many <CMP commands).

Also about the whole grey robot ordeal, keep in mind that Excerpt had to get to the Internal Source somehow too, and it isn't like he'd restrain from killing some bots. Who's to say you're the only one who was running around amuck?

And it shouldn't be too hard to fix the issue with the portal gun and the booster (make the scene come right after you walk in) but the thing is that a "New Game +" with the portal gun was never an intention of mine for the final release, and this was pretty much just there to let you play around with the portals. Since it's come up, do you guys think I should keep the option to run through with the portal gun in the final version? (it would make testing harder D: )

Wasn't really complaining.
If I want to play Tetris, I'll go download Scorched Earth.
I came to WTF 'cause it's a CS mod.
(Just meant it in the "D'awww... Ah well, this is still cool." kind of way.

To be honest, I'd say keep the Portal Gun in.
Sure it makes testing a pain, but it makes the game interesting.

Lastly, to be honest "Your Booster suddenly breaks." is kinda bordering on Nintendo Hard territory.
It's just a niggly detail, but if you're gonna have it break give the player a reason, like...

(PC): Huh?
*Explosion knocks you to the ground*
(PC): Ooof! Wha-?
(PC): Damn, must've overheated dodging all those blocks...

Or whatever reason you want to give.
It's really just so it isn't so...
Outta-the-blue-inexplicable.
Unless, you know, the Booster is made of Explodium.

What do you mean, blocks?

Have you gotten to the part where it breaks yet anyways? And it TOTALLY could be made of explodium (personally I think everything in CS has traces of explodium in it, critters and bats explode, behemoths, gaudis (they have to fall down first). Explodium is definitely a crucial part of the CS universe.)

Have you gotten to the part where it breaks yet anyways? If the Booster IS made of explodium, at least give us a poof of smoke.
But if you do that, at some point you have GOT to insert a witty observation about how everything explodes.

This has been suggest before by a friend of mine, but I generally threw away the idea since I didn't feel like making it.

If I were to do it, it'd be more like "Your block gun got an UPGRADE" and then it could shoot 3 blocks that would become stationary when they landed on walls. It wouldn't be TOO hard, but I don't really have any ideas for it beyond that and if it were to be used it would happen in the later chapters. So if it does happen, it won't be happening anytime soon.
