In the future, however, humanity discovers a more fantastic (in the actual meaning) form of space travel and you are sent on a mission of peace to a distant planet far enough from their star to sustain life but too cold to be comfortable. Your mission does not go well. You are not harmed, but you are sent on your way. Your amiable ways do not project peace to this war-faring race as would have been obvious had you paid attention during your briefing. You leave to find your ship, being that you couldn't approach the restricted space of this other race. Your ship not lost. You have the technology to both track your ship and to communicate with your crew or the nearby civilization. You trek across the frigid tundra for not half an hour before you step into some deep snow and find yourself trapped in a ravine-like crack. Your attempts to communicate fail due to your recent humiliation and your radio soon loses power. After so long, all you have left are your delicious, minty socks. Soon you grow hungry, made worse by the smell of your socks. Before long you are driven to devour them. You freeze alone on a distant planet trapped beneath the snow. Your wish has been granted.
