I agree with MS, since organisms living off the rocks wouldn't cast a shadow on Sandaime. Or maybe it was just artistic license. I like the organism idea, since it expands Cave Story's limited ecosystem. But the electric lights theory has a sci-fi feel to it.

Yeah, but we could think up all sorts of cool power sources for the lights. Oh, and the teleporters and computers, for that matter. I guess it's probably localized, but how could a teleporter at the bottom of a hole (Labyrinth) be hooked up to a power source, unless it runs throughout the entire Island?

Yeah, but we could think up all sorts of cool power sources for the lights. Oh, and the teleporters and computers, for that matter. Maybe the Teleporters runs on a self-powered Generator, that turns on after certain conditions have been fulfilled, which were set by the weird creators themselves

And holy crap, that just gave me an idea, and it's probably been discussed already, but those Cthulhu people are described as "the island's native inhabitants". Well, to me they just look like a guy in a frog suit. Maybe that's what they are. Perhaps they are those humans, hiding from something. Something like Ballos, or...

This has been said before, but the Cthulhu are in plural in the credits. Aww... Unless the Chtulhu in Grasstown, so to say, took a shortcut.
