They're red heart-shaped gummies.

What if they're crackers with red frosting on them?

Well, I just found proof that the light isn't shed by glowing rocks, and probably artificial lights. Sandaime, on Yamashita Farm, is sitting in the shade. That means the light is coming from above him, not from the rocks or anything like that, and lights tend to be on the ceiling. There we go, case closed.

Or maybe not!!
...
Maybe only the Ceiling rocks make light!!
^.^;
{And the Ceiling rocks could only be limited to that room, =D}

That doesn't sound ridiculous at all. You're definitely not just saying that for the sake of posting.

No, think about it.
The rocks are glowing because of some organisms in them?
So it'd make sense if only the top ones glowed, because all of the vapors, gases and such would float to the top, nourishing them more then if they lived off the side or bottom rocks....
:D
That room could also be acting differently than the others. All of the plants grown there might affect any of the organisms/rocks that are too close, thus making the ones on the ground and sides not glow.
We could also point out that this {This being the shade} might be an error on Pixel's part, just like Ballos and his eyes.
{And shoo, Jacob. No one asked you to come here, =P}

Well how about you shut your whore mouth, seeing as it's a public forum and I have every right to be here, same as you.
Then why don't you shut your mouth?

Just stop.
Just stop, please.
You're telling me to stop, when it's a public forum, after all.
Contradiction!

I meant stop being stupid, so let's give that a try.
I never acted stupid in the first place :rolleyes:
I provided valid points for further debate, did I not?

But, if you insistent, you first.
{Hope you know what I'm talking about.
If not, I rest my case.}

Huh?

JacobX891 said:
Your theory is flawed substantially. Why would only the rocks glow in that room?
You'll need to defend your hypothesis quite a bit more, and from several more angles.
Oops?
I didn't say that they only glowed in that room, I said that they glowed differently in that room, and I listed the reasons why.
Go back and check, yourself! :rolleyes:

But...

JacobX891 said:
OK.
You're still going to have to explain why it's different only in that room.

Also, Pixel made a mistake? Really?
But, I did....

And, yeah, Pixel errored.
We had a big discussion about it, too :rolleyes:

Sandie

Well, what about the Sand Zone? It's made of polished stone.
But it's also full of sand...
Perhaps, like the Critters, the organisms adapted to live off Sand instead of Rock, there....?
{And, there could be minuscule amounts of sand on even seemingly polished rock...
..it IS the Sand Zone, after all..}

Sand doesn't stick to the ceiling.

Except with MAGIC.
A cup full of sand won't.
But little grains of sand will, =D

Lowell, it is possible to overthink Cave Story. You are doing it. Just go with "there's lights we can't see" or "the rocks glow but Pixel used some artistic license with Sandaime".

[thinking]Hmm... (seeing as I've already got myself a reputation of spamming and stating the obvious, this theory'd better be good...)[/thinking]

The light question could apply in most games... generally, there's no problem for a normal game character to see everything clearly in underground dungeons (Ash in Pokémon being the exception). In NetHack, Golden Sun, FF 1 - 5, one can see underground. And as well in SMB for NES (there were torches in the SNES version's background, so I exclude that). Could it just be us Western people who has so poor eyesight we think areas are darker than they are?

Also, rabbits are night-active (and lives underground), so if mimigas are rabbits they should be able to see clearly underground.

Notice that Kazuma has his eyes shut all the time, by the way? Perhaps he can't see anything and don't bother to look into the darkness anymore since it doesn't help?
