Obvious poster is obvious. First, do you really think that in 55 pages noone yet mentioned this? And second, we're loking for in-universe explanation. Someone should probably edit that into the first post...Captain Fabulous said:Do you know why there's light in the underground tunnels? I'll tell you why.
Because playing on a completely black screen would be no fun. No fun at all.
Dat's true. I'm surprised nobody noticed that. I'm surprised I didn't notice that.Captain Fabulous said:Also, the theory Celtic Minstrel posted about the caves being open to the outside... no. It would be SO FRIGGIN WINDY.
Actually, that's a very good point. I don't think we actually hear wind in the game. So then, is there wind? I think some places may be windy – the Sand Zone is the most likely possibility (along with, obviously, the Outer Wall and the Balcony).Captain Fabulous said:Also, the theory Celtic Minstrel posted about the caves being open to the outside... no. Well, the stars are not proof, because if you're in the shadow of the island it might be dark enough to see the stars. The moon is proof if we assume that this planet has exactly one moon which is only visible at night, but it's possible that that is not the case. In fact, it's not even the case on Earth – the moon is often visible in the daytime (morning or evening), at least from some parts of the world.Captain Fabulous said:And the Outer Wall is not in the shadow of the island, you can see stars and a moon. It's just night time.

Though, you misinterpreted my theory. I wasn't saying the caves are open to the outside. I was only suggesting certain places (Grasstown, Sand Zone, Mimiga Village, Plantation) are open to the outside.
I was only joking.. =DT-Jack said:All I do here is that I avoid that "Fuck it, it's just a game" attitude.....
You're too lazy to check, but you're not too lazy to post about it?whyme said:Wait. The original question for this thread was about lights in the caves right?
(too lazy to check.sry)
Yes, it was. This "Wind" theory started as an argument for the possibility that some of the areas are open at one side. I just made a complete theory out of it, just like I tend to do.whyme said:Wait. The original question for this thread was about lights in the caves right?

I'm sorry, but yes, yes I can. The general rule of thumb is that the rules of a fictional world are the same as those of the real one unless noted, and saying "It's a different world" is just the same as "It's just a game". Anyway, all I did here is suggest a theory and give some evidence for its plausibility. Do whatever you want, but unless you can disprove it, this theory can (can is the main word here) be true.JacobX891 said:You cannot judge wind by altitude. It's a different world entirely, so things don't work the same. Maybe clouds just move that way, and maybe they move that quickly because they weigh a hell of a lot less than people.
No I already answered that. The wind isn't completely negated, only slowed down to an acceptable speed.whyme said:So you're wondering why the collectables move left through the air on the outer wall right?
And can you?JacobX891 said:Fuck you! Are you Pixel? No? Oh, I'm sorry, then I'm afraid you can't make that call, sir!
Oh look who's talking. I'm sorry, but it was you who started that "That world is different, so it runs on different rules" bullshit. Who are you to make that call, huh? Pixel? I don't think so.JacobX891 said:Fuck you! Are you Pixel? No? Oh, I'm sorry, then I'm afraid you can't make that call, sir!
T-Jack said:*facepalm* Which part of "not an impenetrable barrier" did you not understand?
*sigh* Fine.JacobX891 said:You took the responsibility of explaining your theory. Let's hear it.
As I already said, there is nothing to stop the wind. The enchantment makes the wind in the Island's vicinity slow down. There's no "some wind", there's "all the wind, but slowed down".JacobX891 said:Well how exactly does 'some' wind get through.
Because noone asked that question yet. Basically, noone is casting it. It's an enchantment, you cast it once and it stays there until somebody dispells it.JacobX891 said:And you still haven't answered who is casting it.

Good luck finding out how to do that.VoidMage_Lowell said:*Grins mischievously*
