I need some help.

Right in my mod sonic story (play it:p )
i use the scene where kazuma flys off with quote
i know theres a problem with ending scenes... After the scene i make some text say "your not getting away that easily" and make you go to the Throne Room. But theres no character just my health bar and hes not off screen hes just gone...

Can anyone hack this so the booster (v2.0) never runs out? And so its super super fast?

Just that in my sonic mod he turns super sonic and this is the best i can do...

as for the actual hack, here's the scoop -- infinite booster is a snap, but when I started changing the speed values I somehow managed to crash my computer. I think being able to fly is benefit enough though.

But, I figure that the best way I can learn is through example.
I'm not planning on making anything major, like new weapons, so I don't think I need extensive knowledge.

sounds good, I'll answer
I want to make the sounds that the bubbler makes when fired change to the "fireball fired" sound.
first, because it'll be a lot easier to understand. and the weapon one's gonna be a doozy. so... (I'm assuming you have ollydebug or the likes)

the sound setter is going to be of the following format:

call 0x420640
which pushes xx as a variable, the according sfx will then be played by the funcyion at 0x420640. ya dig?

so, to change the bubbler fire sound to this, we go to the bubbler code and look for a snippit like that.

there are a few like this, and by trial and error, we can find a few offsets:

  406526 - lvl 3 'pop' noise

AND I'll edit in the morning w/ more. do you see where this is going though?

When hes supersonic he needs to be fast and theres certain levels where he needs to be going very fast.

If it keeps crashing your pc then leave it.

what I got messed up on was that the terminal velocity for booster appears to be in the same check as that for normal speeds, so when I raised it, gravity was pushing me through walls after a long fall, and you could run ridiculously faster.
which is where my computer crashed.
for infinit boostah, what i did was remove the fuel destroyer.
have fun making speed work, it's a presumably ridiculously obvious solution that'll make me cry.

I'm going to have to introduce you to a new function since I couldn't find the sound player for the bubble launcher. This one's used to set the values of the sounds, it's of the following format:

  push zz
push yy
push offset xx
call 004207E0
add esp,0C

zz = assigned num
yy = number of channels
xx = offset of sound

there are a whole bunch of these in the loading code, so we just find the one that has zz as 30 (bubbler sound) change yy to 2, and change the offset to that of the fireball code, namely 0x48FB00.
and we just write

push offset 0x48fb00
call 0x4207e0
at offset 4119ae and we're done.

pretty simple, amirite?

Well, that makes sense, but it only overlayed the polar star sound on top of the bubbler sound. :o

Maybe I did something wrong....?

Here's the hacked exe, i think i made sonic run a bit faster, but he does fly faster than he runs. Also for your convieniece I took the liberty of speeding up the blade (lvl1 and 2) so that it goes faster than him.

And it doesn't make the noise or the graphic when he flies either.
