If there was a limit, i would just say that the flame and the robot (?) are just two separate sprites. Wasn't there a robot master that was just like that?

As for the Game Boy one, I blame myself for using Wikipedia as reference.

I had a project to do and just finished Sword and Sworcery so I just threw this together. I'm probably gonna tweak it later but I like the way it looks.

 

Looks good. It kind of looks like a party with the colorful lights, though.
That's just my opinion though, it may look different to some others.

 

Didn't see this thread before! I love pixel art! Here is some old stuff that I made. Sorry that it's mostly laid out in a WIP fashion. It was supposed to be for a Zelda-meets-CS-style fan game:

Palette testing and WIP. See note below for credits, as it is not completely mine.

An inventory/menu with items. All original pixel art from me here. (Yes, that is a "Pie Force" in the top-right ... Zelda fans will get the joke)

Link loves rupees. For some reason, this rupee is caught in a vine. See note below for credits as it is not completely mine.

Animated FTW! See note below for credits as it is not completely mine. Also, I know the fireplace needs depth on the stone. I screwed up on it.

Note: The Link character is my modded version of Pixel's Quote sprite and the rupees were made by a guy known as Ryuza (a member of the ZFGC forums); the rest is all mine. Lots of it is based off of the Legend of Zelda series. I have more, but I figured this was enough; I don't want to make my post too large so I picked some of the best stuff.

I was making something like that a couple years ago, which is what the above pixel art is from, but I stopped working on it so that I could move on to other things. I will not be reviving it, but I released the source files on ZFGC, just in case someone else wanted to continue the project. If someone wants to discuss this with me further or if you want the source files, just message me.

My Link mod of Pixel's Quote, running.

This was an obvious collab. darklink45 made the head, arms (up to the elbow), body, and started the legs down to just above the knee. I made everything else. I basically finished the limbs, made the wings, and created the animation.

I think that does it for the best of my old pixel art. Perhaps I'll make something new now.
