You know, if anyone doesn't like the Wii version, then just don't bother to buy it. Nothing's preventing you from sticking to PC Cavestory and even PC boss rush if you want.

Nothing's preventing me from complaining about it not being good, either.

Alas, the freedoms of free speech...

Though you are allowed to speak whatever is on your mind, coming to a fan site to whine/critique harshly about the fan topic doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

It's been going on since fansites have been created.

Just look at GameFAQs.

I wouldn't call GameFAQs a fan site. Well, at least too general to be on any one subject like this one. (and fansites shouldn't be owned by corporations)

And... this one isn't populated by every which minor you can find, trying to "enhance their ego", just for the sake that they can.

True, but still. Fansites or not they are meant for discussions about the game(s), it's not always going to be praise.

People are going to be disappointed when stuff doesn't live up to what they want of it, and while it may be selfish it's still going to happen. I mean if Pixel made a Cave Story 2 and it's story was all about the chinfish people would be pissed. . . wait, no never mind, that would be awesome.

Anyway, on a more serious note while it may be pointless to complain about a game on it's fansite it still is a part of the point of the forum.

Re: Cave Story Officially Announced for WiiWare

I agree wholeheartedly, MetaSeraphim. There will be complaints; not everybody is going to like everything about the game at hand, even if they are fans of the game.

However, complaining about something the person has yet to try out just irks me. My motto is to never judge before actually interacting. This is why I facepalm every time I hear a mention of Sonic 4. If you buy the game, you have full reign to bash it, warranted or not. And if you can't buy it, there's always YouTube and word of mouth from friends who have the game.

With Cave Story coming out in less than a week, I want to be psyched about the release instead of worrying what others have to say about it. (I could just stop coming here until then, but where's the fun in that?)

And yes, chinfish as protagonists would be awesome indeed...! (I assume that's plural?)

...and holy crap, MetaSeraphim is talking all serious. What the hell have you been drinking these past few hours?

Heh, looks like people overlooked the link I posted back in #735.

Looks like they added dialog. Wonder how the story will change, if any?

Hopefully just alot of new Dialog changes for her version, such as more storyline or character depth =D

I doubt it'd be more storyline, unless it's cave story 2 "from her eyes"

no no, not more storyline like playtime and such, more storyline as in the characters reveal different things to you than they do to Quote, more BACKstoryline.

Re: Cave Story Officially Announced for WiiWare

Does it swap the roles of the characters (so now quote starts out with the air machine) or does it alter the game dramatically?
Or... Do you play as the game trying to kill curly?

Re: Cave Story Officially Announced for WiiWare

I doubt they'd alter the main story, just dialogue so it doesn't look bad.

I personally think Kanpachi mode would have been much more badass than Curly mode.

Too bad they didn't follow through.

I'm afraid that the opening text "From somewhere, a transmission..." may have been changed. A video shows the second instance of this is now "Someone's transmission"

I am actually a pretty serious person as much as it may come as a surprise.

Well, anyway, my opinions about Cave Story Wii are still neutral. Though I am sure it's going to do a good job of what it's meant to do, bring Cave Story to a more public audience.

Re: Cave Story Officially Announced for WiiWare

I thought we already agreed that the original English translation is better. Maybe AG are better writers than Pixel. Or maybe Nicalis wrote the new stuff and Pixel said "Good enough, let's get this game made already, it's a year and a half late already."
Or maybe I should just wait to play it before I say everything sucks.
(BTW everything sucks)

Re: Cave Story Officially Announced for WiiWare

Sorry. You've already announced your views, Captain Fabulous, so it matters not. Though... if they do replace "Huzzah", I'll be forced to agree with you on it.

And to MetaSeraphim, I knew you as a serious person when I first joined these darned forums. Then you started to act all retarded. Yay, bipolar-ism!

Same vids thecrown has shown. Though on the second one, because of the increased frame rate, the Machine Gun looks downright deadly now... (now if only the player knew how to aim the thing)
