Fate/stay night is an awesome anime/Visual Novel :

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/59974.html - PS2 Game opening 1/3
(I think I like gametrailers.com for anime/game videos now, since it has better quality; but just make sure you disable the "continuous play" checkmark, or you'll end up watching all sorts of weird videos.)
The music and the sleek animation is what attracted me initially to F/sn...
The anime is great. I managed to snatch it up before it went out of print, since Geneon stopped selling anime in the US.... Cost a pretty penny though
(about 180$)
The Visual Novel is excellent. However... It costs a pretty penny as well ;p Especially if you want to add voices you have to buy the PS2 version as well as the DVD version. (about 125$?)
BUT the Visual Novel isn't translated completely yet! AND the remove H option isn't finished either (I'm pretty sure they are doing this from what I read)...
If you're interested I can upload the demo of Fate/stay night in english, or you can get it here :

Look under the Known Issues part to see how to make it run...
It was that demo that made me really interested in this game/anime..!
Then there's Tsukihime ...

It's a pretty good anime, and an excellent Visual Novel. This one is pretty dark though I think... You may as well download this one from some unnamed source since the game itself costs like 400$+ or something crazy lol [it's out of print...]
There's an english patch for the game AND a remove H option. Everyone says this one has a great story. You should probably watch the anime first though, since many people who played the game say the anime sucks compared to the game, even though the anime is pretty good.
And finally there's Utawarerumono!
... gametrailers.com sucks suddenly
It doesn't have any videos for Uta!

The Anime series to Utawarerumono is awesome. The Visual Novel/Strategy games to Utawarerumono are awesome. AND it's translated into english, BUT .... There are a couple of H-scenes in the translated PC game and currently there is no "disable H-Scenes" option
The game is very well made too, and I know you'd love it! In my review of Utawarerumono I compared it to an aspiring legend like Xenogears... But, until there's a patch to disable the few short H-scenes that they put in the game [or better yet, a patch to replace them with the All-ages PS2 scenes], I cannot/do not recommend it unless you are old enough
...
In summary these are excellent anime titles in this order :
Utawarerumono being the best, Fate/stay night being great, and Tsukihime being good; I say check out these anime right away. [probably have em on youtube or a better place to download] (but I bought them instead ;p)
As for Visual Novels, they are all superior and amazing, but... the only one I can recommend is Tsukihime, as long as you use "disable H-scenes" option, keep in mind it's a dark setting but referred to like a celebrated book.
When you are old enough/or they make a patch, I highly recommend the Utawarerumono game... [ it has nothing to do with the fact that I helped with the project and X-Calibar is in the credits
] but, just like the anime it further opens up a great alternative universe.
