I don't really have a written copy of the philosophical concepts related to TWoR, so I'll see if I can come up with a more straightforward way of writing them.
First, just a little disclaimer: my belief system is very much a work in progress, not a final answer. I certainly don't claim to have all the answers. That being said...
You often hear about "nature (genetics/evolution) vs. nurture (environment/upbringing/culture/society)". I would say that, contrary to popular belief, these are not the only two forces that shape our actions, and, as humans, we have the ability to choose to go against either or both of them. I also believe that, at our very core, we all want happiness for both ourselves and others, even if our genetics and/or socialization would have us believe otherwise.
You may notice that this belief is not compatible with a strictly naturalistic/materialistic view of the universe (i.e. one in which the physical is all that exists) because such a view would claim that our actions are only governed by physical things (i.e. our own biology, our environment, our interactions with others). I would say that you and I and everyone are actually spiritual entities rather than physical ones. You could think of it like the world is a giant MMO that we're all playing, but that we still exist outside of ("in the world, not of the world"). One of the biggest reasons I believe this is that there doesn't seem to be a way to explain consciousness using physics.
As far as how all this relates to morality and how to live, I would say that all intentionally malicious actions come about as a result of people being enslaved by their genetics and/or socialization, and choosing not to go against them, even if they know on some level that they should. This is not to say that genetics and socialization are inherently evil; indeed, they often allow us to gain knowledge that we would otherwise be unlikely to gain.
Does this all make sense? Any questions/comments? I'd share some of the concepts related to The Paradise Project as well, but I don't want to spoil anything.
