• Please stop embedding files/images from Discord. Discord has anti-hotlinking logic in place that breaks links to Discord hosted files and images when linked to from anywhere outside of Discord. There are a multitude of file/image hosting sites you can use instead.

It just seems like everyone bashing 2016 are actively looking for reasons to make it seem more bad than it was, reasons that were no less there and disregarded any other year because it wasn't 2016. I expect that the only thing notably bad was the divisive political landscape and it just became cool to bag 2016 after that.

I mean in 2015 the original Spock died (in fact a few people from star trek died that year), Satoru Iwata (Nintendo president) died, the co-creator of the Simpsons died, Terry Pratchett (Discworld author) died, John Nash (remember "a beautiful mind", that movie was about him) died (along with his wife), yet people didn't complain about 2015 being bad. I look at the list of people who died in 2016 and I only see 5 or 6 people so far that don't make me ask "who?".

The "of similar age" part should read "of a similar parent". I mean for instance my mother's father's daughter is related to me, and around the same age, but is my aunt, not my sister.

quick question. Based off of how 2016 went, how would you think 2017 would go? it's probably going to get worse, but there are some things to wait for. Like sonic mania and the Nintendo switch.. so yea. and go screw yourself, 2016...

Considering a good few of the awful things from 2016 have yet to fully play out, I would say there's plenty of hope... in the second part of the year

Hard to believe it's been 5 years since I joined. I've certainly had an adventure throughout all my ups and downs here. My activity has noticably been fading lately... We'll have to see if I can still reach 2000 posts, release that other project I want to share, and if I'll still be active here when I graduate college.

Happy New Year! Being in New Zealand, just left of the date line, and an hour or 2 before Australia, I'm the first one to enter 2017. Nothing really has changed much here so I guess this 2016 that people had a problem with was just the first year of our infinite downward spiral.
