Or if you're a grotesque faggot who uses the Nemesis, spam that.

What? What's wrong with using the Nemesis, besides it being hard to dodge all the crystals?

I never really had any trouble with Monster X... Spamming level 2 Blade at point blank range pretty much takes it down in a few seconds.

And they say Blade sucks. :p

I'm 100% sure Monster X doesn't let you kill it in one go - it autoshuts if you take off about a third of its health.

What was hard about it is that Monster X was the first boss that actually required a tactic other than SPAM ROCKETT

"SPAM ROCKETT", as you put it, doesn't work against Balrog III (shuts its mouth upon getting hit), Curly (has an invincible shield), or Omega (closes instantly upon getting hit), so you'd think the average player would have learned better by the time they reached Monster X.

In fact, I learned it too well, and tend to forget to use my missiles.

But yes, Monster X is one of the bosses that actually requires tactics.

Their long range can help in some situations, like when you're clearing Monster X's room.

And of course they're invaluable against the Core.

need ya supermissiles to finish balloss quicker :pignon2:

Sorry, I should have been more specific. Cut down the Press' health to at least one quarter, and then spam him with missiles. Don't worry, you should have enough for Ballos.

If you levelled them to max you have plenty. Last form Ballos needs only like 5 fully levelled missiles I think.

Actually, you need exactly 12.

Heh, I was scared of Monster X. And died on the way often because of the blocks :mahin: Blade works like a dream.

First time I played Sacred Ground, I didn't know there was a Sacred Ground, I just wanted to save Curly. Therefore, I missle-spammed the Doctor and Co., went in the prefab room because I was like, huh, it's open, and entered Sacred Ground with zero missles. I'm so talented. Therefore, Ballos and Heavy Press was extremely difficult.

Overall, Core.

It only takes 14 missiles to destroy Heavy Press from full health.

Well, the less you use, the more you save for Ballos :(

I should say that I also find Monster X as the hardest boss. He was the only one in which I actually epically failed at :D

Yeah, but 14 + 12 < 54.

How many do you need for his second stage? I never count, but I always have full missles when I get to Ballos and missle-spam his second and fourth stage. Hey, it works.

Need? 0.

Want? Well, I never use any, because I prefer the Spur (it can hit both eyes at the same time, doing something like 150 damage per max charge hit).

But I think it has somewhere between 700 and 1000 health, so probably 20 or so when you account for misses.

Also, there are two "i"s in "missile".

I only use Super Missiles because they help you get a faster time recording.

Everyone knows that Balrog's 1st encounter is the hardest.

Same here. Generally I'm not too spiffy at the second stage of Ballos, with all the getting caught in the bats and boosting stuff. So, spamming works

And sheesh, don't hate on the spelling. >.<

Ironhead? Pfaugh! You just need to dodge the blocks and his red thingies. 9 times out of 10 I can do it with no damage.
