• Hey everyone happy Christmas Eve we're aware of what's happened with the source code so to keep this simple absolutely don't post it on the site or use it to make mods with (it's not particularly preferable toward this end anyway) and tread lightly in general until we see how this settles, thanks to all and have a great holiday season -DT

What determines the effect of the Red Flowers?

Anyway, someone a while back said that anger makes one more powerful when the Red Flowers of Red Crystal gets them. Please explain how Toroko became a hulking beast, then. She doesn't seem like the angry type.

Somehow Toroko turns into a massive behemoth, and Sue turns into a bunnygirl.
DOES NOT COMPUTE.

So anger DOESN'T matter when it comes to red flowers?

Hmm?

Whaddya mean?
We already established Toroko was pissed as hell inside.
Sue, again, is a special case. She's human turned into Mimiga, and was affected by the Red Crystal, not a Red Flower, so she's not the same.

I think King's character develops some when he learns that the Mimiga village is in even greater danger, and he decides to listen to humans and outsiders.

And remember that King just stabs Balrog in the back, while quote has to throw it at him in attack mode.

And the red crystal is supposed to be a universal red flower.

Perhaps I'm making a point, let me think about it.

Or maybe latent power means HAPPINESS AND LOVE! Which Toroko ALSO has!
*Gasp* a rounded character? Impossible! We only deal with flat ones here. No extra dimensions of character allowed!

Maybe you should take a look one last time at the Doctor's speech...
Code:
It is this that I have
[B]successfully extracted
and concentrated.[/B]<NOD<CLRYou can see it in the
form of this...<NOD<CLO<FAC0000
<WAI0020<DNP0401<ANP0400:0040:0000<WAI0020
<MS3<FAC0021...Red Crystal.<WAI0030<NOD<CLRAnd unlike the flowers,
this Crystal will affect
humans as well.
It's not a 'Universal Red Flower', it's Red Flowers in a highly concentrated state, high enough to affect even humans, and give the Doctor such powers as being able to take over the Core {Which was severely damaged already} and use it as his new body.

Didn't he say the red flowers had two properties? If so, then I don't think they're as similar as you're saying, the red crystal is more of a mind control thing.

Jacob, thecrown did that!

Magic?

Don't forget magic.
It gave him magic.
Well, the Crown might've played a part in that, assuming it was still with him after he disintegrated...
It made him fly, after all, and maybe shoot lightning bolts. {It could've been Misery who killed King}
Hard to tell...

What do you mean mind control?
If you meant it made Misery and Sue attack Quote, yeah, but that's just adding to the list of it's powers.
{Or, again, it could be the Crown. Maybe the two together make for some nasty powers}

Wait, what? The doctor can't shoot lightning bolts. That's Misery's attack. Like the ones she shoots from those floaty ball things.

I think the crystal itself was the one with the magic. The crown just allows one to control the power of the red flowers (like controlling enraged Mimigas somehow). When you defeat him the second time, his body dissolves and he is no longer wearing the crown, so the red crystal controls him.

I only said that because it really looks like the Doctor shot the lightning bolt, but I said it might've been Misery for the reason you mentioned, it being one of her main spells.

The only time you ever fight a Enraged Mimiga, you're the only one around. I think they just fought you because you were the only target, not that there was any mind control going on. But I guess there could've been some...
And what about when the Doctor floats in the air after King's unsuccessful attack, and then teleports away? I don't think Red Flowers do that
The Crown has power, don't forget that. Else why would there be such a bloody war going on for it?

I'm pretty sure the Demon Crown has it's own power, independent of the flowers. Because, let's face it, flower power is the least menacing way to rule anything.
Anyway, maybe the red flower rage mostly depends upon your stamina stat?

The crown siphons Ballos' bad energy and he has lightning skills.

Anyway, was the red crystal really destroyed? the crown definitely was, but are we sure the red crystal was eliminated?

We never saw it again after the fight with the Doctor. Who knows, maybe it's flying around making people into crazy monsters. Sounds like a good idea for a mod.

I don't think that any of the Enraged Mimigas that you fight ingame are under direct control of the doctor. I just figured that it had some form of power over those affected by red flowers because the doctor's plan was to launch an attack on the earth using enraged Mimigas, and that would be rather difficult to do without some way of controlling/coordinating them (seeing as they don't really listen well).

The crown has some kind of powers. Teleportation seems pretty clear. But what else? It's hard to say which of the doctor's other powers are due to the crown and which are due to the crystal.

(side note: If the doctor can teleport, then why does he need a key to the red flower storehouse?)

The Crown gives you the powers of a Jumper, then, Noxid.

The Doctor can only teleport to places that he's been to before.
If we're going to start discussing the powers of the Crown, that should be a new thread. This section could use some of those, anyway.

PLOT DEVICE.
Or maybe the teleportation is specific.
Maybe he can only teleport to certain areas, or he needs a lot of room. It'd kinda suck to teleport inside a wall.
*Shrug*

EDIT:
Yeah, we should probably create another thread to continue this....

Yay for new theories

Hmm, nice thoughts, I like a lot of what you said, but there are a few particular things...
X-Calibar said:
Another thing to think about is, Kazuma says another way to turn the enraged Mimigas back to normal would be killing the Core. That must mean the Core must have some kind of connection to magic and the Red Flowers. Maybe the flowers connect you to the power of the Core by magic or something....

Oh and what about the Undead Core? Well, applying my theory that Igor had been feeding the Sky Dragon Eggs red flowers stuff (Except for egg00) which when hatched they ended up as Zombie Dragons. Well, the Doctor probably used the Red Flower / Crystal to do the same to the Core. Turning it into the Undead Core...
Basically, the properties of the Red Flowers we tried explaining earlier before. {In another thread}
The connection you made between the Red Flowers and the Zombie Dragons/Undead Core makes me feel silly for not noticing it before....
At this rate, I don't think we'll be able to explain the Red Flowers, completely...
Looks like the theory section is getting it's cried for revival ;)
