Yep. I was thinking of revealing it tomorrow if nobody got it. Good on you though! I used Yoshi and Piranha Plants because you could do something just like that to a boss in Yoshi's Island. It is pretty hilarious.

I think the world's going to implode now that we're all trying to beat Jon.

 

First of all, great mod Aar. Short and sweet would be the most concise way for me to describe it, as it is a polished and entertaining mod the whole way. Not only is it a fun experience during the first playthrough, but the speedrun challenge (plus competing in the "High Score" board) is just as fun, if not better. It's surprising how good it is both ways. My enjoyment of the latter comes mainly from the abundant amount of small tricks and optimizations (intentional or not) that help the player achieve a better time, combined with the length of the challenge (a few minutes at the max).

My problems are only nitpicks:

-My biggest complaint is that there are no skipflags for the speedrun challenge. It's not a huge deal without them, but for someone like me who restarted a whole bunch of times (in the very first room alone), it would really ease the pain having to do it so often.
-You placed a small number of slopes that cause you to do that clipping glitch. They're basically only in the latter part of the mod, though.
-I actually updated that Stage Select theme a while ago (not that you'd know or anything... sorry!).
-What is with the breakable block in the first room I don't get it

Also didn't know you can use the critter to get to the top, I just did a frame perfect jump from the entrance to the sword getting place....

Yeah I totally thought that was going to be an awful spot to have to attempt every time, but fortunately there are a lot of tricks like that to make the run easier. Although, if you really want to be perfect, I bet doing it the other way saves a little more time if you get it right on the first attempt.

In normal mode if you go back in and break it with your Polar Star there's a save point.

 

I'm planning on releasing an update soon here that shouldn't affect speedrun times (I'm not removing the boss exploit), but instead, make it easier to speedrun. I'll also be updating the Stage Select ORG, and fixing some nitpicks.
Like I said, I want this to be as enjoyable as possible.

I was going to say, if this was a bug if I use the exploit if I play the game normally. Then I realized that it doesn't matter, as I couldn't go in anyways.

Okay, I found the cause of the issue. Apparently the game's engine uses flag 1000 for something.
The update is now safe to download, but still, keep in mind that it affects your save data (and a fix is listed in the quote).

Fixed.
...now there's a small issue (that doesn't affect gameplay) in the boss room. I'll update it to v1.5 so you'll know if your copy is 100% fine.
v1.5 is out, hopefully without any bugs caused by my updates.
