Okay, I did a... thing...
The description of it's on the soundcloud page, so I won't bother wasting oxygen typing it all again.

Criticism would be very much appreciated.
Actually, is it me or is it way too quiet...?

A little recreation I did of the original Plant PixelMusicData into an Organya file. I know it's not the best, but it's my first time doing something with Organya.

This is good in terms of the accuracy of the notes, but it sounds like some of the instruments need changing, and the volume of the echo notes sound like they need reducing.

Hello all,

I know not if I am remembered around these parts,
Despite the meek profile information I keep,
I once posted semi-regularly but went away,
Return I now do on a steed of pure oak,
My hair glitt'ring like the harpstrings of angels,
Though my image may be resplendent to some,
I beseech you, my brothers and sisters to accept me.

Anyway, I posted this one a while back but made some changes,

here and there,

and thought I could do with an ego boost, or soul crushing, from a new set of ears :)

It could be a little louder, but I had no problem hearing it. The introduction reminded me of "Wind Fortress", with some "Geothermal" undertones. When you broke into the little bit from the Cave Story theme, it made me smile a little.

The introduction is catchy and mellow. It feels expansive and elevated. If this is the feeling you're going for in that titlescreen, then by all means, use it.

Ah, if it isn't Tinned Duck. I'd recognise that poetic style of posting anywhere.

I lost the first Watery Caves file, so I can't compare, so I'll just start afresh. (Have I even reviewed this one before?)

It reminds me of a darker "Geothermal" at the beginning, but I really get that sense of being underwater in a mysterious place from the held bass notes and dampened underlying accompaniment in track 3. I especially love the the buzz one of the instruments (track 6/7) gives when it hits the lower notes.

I feel like in bars 34-38, track 7 should fade out quicker, since it was doing that consistently when the melody was playing. Maybe add an extra eighth note for track 7? I don't know. Anyways, nice work.

Oh hey, so I made something new. I've been kind of working on extending the length of my pieces ('cause apparently 90 seconds is too short for a loop? :/)

Anyways I didn't extend it by much, but oh well

Untitled31

EDIT: Upped track 8's volume just a bit.

Hello, everyone. I found a MIDI of Ikachan's main theme here, so I copypasted the notes into an org here. (Here's a recording of the org.) However, this is still a rough version, I haven't touched the pan/volume, no drums, all tracks are on wave-00, etc. So I was wondering, could someone please help refine/improve this?
Some track information:
Track 1 is used for main melody for first half of song.
Tracks 2,3,4 accompany track 1 in the background.
Tracks 5 and 6 sometimes accompany track 7 in the background.
Track 7 carries the main melody for about the second half of song.
Track 8 accompanies track 7 in the background.
Thanks a lot!

So, uh, mine is a... remix?
Listening to yours made me feel pretty useless. Thanks a lot (no sarcasm).
Sorry for wasting everyone's time.

Another org. I added some chords myself, so if they sound really bad or something let me know so I don't keep making bad chords.

The real reason I'm showing this off is because I made a custom percussion instrument, similar to that of the electric noise some NES songs use. The song I'm covering uses a decent deal of electric noise.

I find the panning a little extreme, with one louder voice put almost entirely on one side and virtually all accompaniment on the other. It makes it uncomfortable to listen to with ear buds, but it might just be me. The percussion sounds pretty good, but I can't compare it to anything I've ever listened to before.

I am interested in that footage, however. I love the aesthetics.

The original org has no panning, but I started to record everything to the right side (I'm deaf in my left) because it's easier for me. Sorry if that threw you off, maybe I'll try experimenting a little more with the editing next time.

Haha, thanks. I didn't really do much, just copied the original game's tileset and made it a small CS level.

Sorry, I didn't know. It's not really a bad thing; I just happen to be really sensitive to an imbalance in panning most of the time. Even Toroko's theme sometimes throws me off.

Neat; I was about to ask whether you were planning this for a mod or not. For some reason I thought you didn't like Battle Kid...maybe I'm confusing you with someone else.
