Can you just delete the 20th map and work on the 21st?

Can you just delete the 20th map and work on the 21st?

Just tried that, but if there's anything in the 20th slot at all (Even if there isn't an actual map there) it messes up the executable. This didn't happen with the other version of my mod and I didn't change the exe at all from that. I can't think of any explanation for this to happen.

Could you send us the mod? Maybe we could fix it with asm or hex editing.

The whole mod would be nice, but if you just want to give the .exe, that's okay.

Did you delete all the maps and then start adding maps?

If you did that could have fucked things up/don't do that.

As for deleting the maps, I did do that, but I had done it before and it never caused me any problems like this.

I used some hex editing to try and fix the map data. Hopefully it works now.

You'll have to reload your custom icon by the way.

Er, one problem.

The exe has none of the stuff it had before, such as the 2x res hack, all my org songs, or all the other hacks it had in it.

Well, your .csmap section is only 4000 bytes big, which is enough for 20 maps (0-19)
I tried to add more with BL, which should be capable of adjusting the .rsrc section and PE header properly but when I did it gave me a nice "The Show Season 2_h.exe is not a valid Win32 application." message. And I did look at the values, and as near as I can tell everything looks legit. So, I can't figure out why it isn't working :/

You're gonna have to re-resource hack in your orgs and stuff. I'm too lazy to do it with a hex editor.

Let's say I'm new here (Hi everyone), and i want to create a mod. I read bunch of modding tutorials, and now stopped with one simple problem - downloading link for .BMP template is broken. If someone reupload archive it would be nice not for me only, but for all modding noobs. (Such as me, of course)

It's just as easy to change the file extension in Cave Editor and remove the (C)Pixel requirement.. as that is essentially all that the ".bmp template" does. someone may look at getting that link fixed, but in the meantime I'd recommend just doing it yourself as it's literally a 20-second operation.

The problem is that I need all the sprites in .bmp, not a few that needed to be changed. Just look at it from the side: I edited PrtCent.pbm by converting it into .bmp and making some changes. To see it in game, engine should load Title.bmp (Not .pbm already), MyChar.bmp, TextBox.bmp, Loading.bmp and a lot of other shiet that i probably even want to change. I already have some modding experience, but my old computer is broken and all needed files is gone.

Change Image File Extension >
- renames all file extensions in the data directory that match the previous value to the new value
- modify the executable to set the accepted image extension to the new value

Remove (C)Pixel requirement >
- changes the string searched for at the end of image files to null, making any value work.
