• Hey everyone happy Christmas Eve we're aware of what's happened with the source code so to keep this simple absolutely don't post it on the site or use it to make mods with (it's not particularly preferable toward this end anyway) and tread lightly in general until we see how this settles, thanks to all and have a great holiday season -DT

It's just that nobody is bothered by their financial situation at the moment because of that "The Doctor is terrorizing us all!" business. Also, if there's no economy system at the Island, then how come that there's a shop in the Labyrinth?

Too bad you can't go back to the island after The Doctor is gone and buy some stuff.

You'd still have to wait a few months/years for the inhabitants to rebuild the economy.

There are only about fifteen mimigas on the island. And those cockroach things eat mimigas.

Those cockroach things are locked up in the Labyrinth. And fifteen rabbit/dog/whatever things are enough when their national currency are keys.

No, I mean that would have to mass reproduce, and build tunnels, to get all around the island.

I'm sure they could do that given one year.

One year!? I would say around 3 to 4 years.

Nah, they don't really need to get al around the Island, and breeding will occur naturally.

Alright.

Someone now needs to make a mod years in the future where you return to the island and use keys and keyrings as money.

Or maybe Pixel himself will do something with the idea.

Keyrings aren't currency. They're wallets.

And if you're rich enough, you can club a man to death with your savings.

Now that sounds like my kind of money system.

That's the same reason I carry around a sack full of pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, half dollars, and full dollars.

This is a place to list unanswered questions in Cave Story as well as mention any possible contradictions in the plot (if they exist). For example, how did all the teleporters get distributed about the island? And who built the vault in which the Core was kept?

I'm more interested in what we don't know, but I imagine a discussion of that would inevitably involve mentioning things we do know.

Maybe Ballos built it.

For some reason I think the island was something Ballos did before he went insane and therefore would be the perfect place to seal him at.

Pronouns: he/him
The explorers that came to the island and later died during the war were most likely responsible for the technology that is spread throughout the island.

But the Core and it's first holding place had to be there way before the explorers came to the island, right?

The Gaudis (and maybe the Mimigas) can obviously use their own technology quite well. One of the two would have built all of this stuff.

What makes you think there are only fifteen? Have you counted them all? I bet there's more than that. Also, you're assuming that every mimiga on the whole island has appeared onscreen.

The Core, probably. Its holding place, though? Not necessarily.
