They are 2D characters in a 3D environment! It's WACKY!!

Have you guys heard the music preview yet? I think it sounds quite good.

 

That style is very different from the original, but unlike the elevator music of Cave StoWii, it is awesome.

 

That sounds almost like the original, it's insane.

 

Some of the Screen shots look really good, but a few (particularly Sand Zone) screen shots are disapointing. But I won't form much of an opinion until I've seen the gameplay, because it's about the combination of visual and sound. Speaking of which, I wonder how they'll do the sound effects...

What you won’t see, due to the fact that it’s a new engine and differences between the hardware, are the environments in 2D or the WiiWare sprites and art.

So yeah no updated 2D backgrounds.

 

I actually like how this is coming along.

Hm to what? I just complain a lot, is all. I did it back for Wii.
When I realized I was obnoxious, I left.
But this looks good. I'll buy it unless it's glitchy. (Sonic 2006 did that, but it's unlikely.)
