Just realized that with the trial version of my sprite editor I can't save sprites. So I can't edit. Eh, it was still fun to make...

 

Hey I made some pokemon sprites. Will I get yelled at if I post them? I want some feedback but it's not cave story.

If it's not for a Cave Story mod I guess it would make more sense to post it in the Artwork and Stuff thread.

 

I probably should've look at the forums more, beacause I had no idea it existed. Eh, I'll get the hang of forums eventually.

is the body / torso supposed to be the same colour as the back? if not then I suggest you change it

other than that, I guess the colours might be too bright? otherwise I guess it's fine

he is an original character, but I have no name for him... Torch Man it is.

 

No, no, he was referencing two obscure Mega Man characters, Torch Man and King. Torch Man being from the utterly fantastic Mega Man 3 for DOS and King from Mega Man and Bass, although you may have already known that second one. Also apparently Fire Man is named Torch Man in Battle Network or something I think maybe. So yeah not Torch Man, that name is taken. God damn it I am a huge Mega Man nerd aren't I

 

Darn, I forgot all about mm3 for DOS.

I need people's opinions/suggestions on these facepics. I plan on using them sometime soon, unless someone takes them up for grabs.

EDIT: Removed eye-bursting colors, tweaked stuff. Added old guy with brown robe(?)holy shit its obi-wan with a moustache

 

Try learning some general anatomy first. You can then formulate a style conforming to some level of anatomical correctness. Following this, I strongly suggest starting with the originals as a base, but NOT as recolors. Make them into silhouettes and learn the shapes that make up the faces while you design them. As you get better, try doing faces without the base and seeing what you can make.

Your colours also clash (especially the bright red and yellow on kazumaclone) and they seem way too saturated so I would do some research on colour theory or whatever it's called.

I'm not too big on the eyes but to each his own. The actual pixel placement is fine, it might look better if you did Some anti-aliasing.

The shadow on the blue outfit is not dark enough. You could try messing with the hue a bit or just make it blatantly darker. You should also imply the bottom of the chin a bit better by shading it because without that it looks like she just has no neck.

They look good. I don't have much to say on improving them because I can't art.

 

Um... how are these Samus sprites? They're supposed to look like NES Samus.
