Hell was the goal, what those people who took the hard path tried to get to and succeed in conquering. After reading descriptions of it ( never watched the youtube videos because I didn't want to entirely spoil it) It sounded like it was going to the the hardest of the hard and the most intense and exciting part of the game. Something that will leave you with all around satisfaction if you made it through...

So was I the only disappointed in it? I jumped down the hole in the prefab building and braced for epic. But all I got was "Dodge this! Dodge That! Hurry Up!" and 2 disappointingly weak bosses. I mean sure, while Ballos had a pretty cool background and his character was interesting looking (in the good way). He wasn't hard enough at all. You literally just had to dodge him and mash your fire button without aiming. Since of course, Curly (or Quote as it was, with my first time in hell) Fires at the same time, eliminating the need to aim at enemies behind you.. Which happens to be where they spawned most of the time.
The only challenge I get out of Running through hell, is from trying to beat my times..

tl;dr- What did you all think of hell/sacred grounds?

I thought it provided a very interesting and at some points annoying array, of challenge to the end of the game.

Well, you should play it more, just so you can beat it.

  1. Don't tell me you're another Odin.
  2. Why'd you get reduced to level one on your first time there?
  3. The spikes, really, are nothing.
  4. Which part of your post does the "dying" most relate to? Try outpwning that first, then the less major troubles... eventually you'll make it. I hope

No. You know,

The usual order of playthroughs
  1. MG - Good Ending
  2. "Wait wasn't that too short? *walkthroughs*" Spur - Best Ending
  3. further attempts of plain curiosity or ftso speedrunning, ...(irrelevant)

Read number 2. Spur.m.

Just for people who've beaten CaveStory in every way possible.

.... Try Re-Volt. You can win in too many ways despite the apparent limitations.

Btw, limit yourself to 3 at a time and you won't care about time. And be a JacobX891. Somehow it works. Yes, contradiction.

Completing Hell in every single way would take as long as the time it takes for the interest in gaming to fade off wat.

Seems pretty usual to me.

But just about everyone has it when he gets there for the first time.

Always fun to attempt hell in every way.
Gives you something to do when you don't wanna do story for awhile.
