But Spirit King would be better for Smash Bros since he has the ability to warp between locations, also he is faster and can defy gravity (floating in the air). :D

If you could change the visual appearence of characters and moves I shouldn't see why this should be a problem.

Though these guys would have made it possible to add custom characters (I think) among other things:

It doesn't have to be smash bros, it could be a mod of any other fighting game that supports long-range attacks.

mugen engine? if someone knows how to use that it could be a good fighting game

But we will need someone to draw the CS characters and I can convert it into sprites, I may have a look into how to use the mugen engine another time but I have birthdaying to do.

All right, now all what we need is an artist.
XristosX could make rough animations for each move for now (he is good at it, look at his killing gifs), and when he gets good enough at drawing we will have our artist. :D
And I will convert those drawings into sprites. :p

The palette for MUGEN is something like this:

-Standing
-Crouching
-Walking forward
-Walking Backwards
-Standing Light Punch
-Standing Powerful Punch
-Standing Light Kick
-Standing Powerful Kick
-Crouching Light Punch
-Crouching Powerful Punch
-Crouching Light Kick
-Crouching Powerful Kick
-Special attacks (I can do two about three)
-Throwing projectile (optional)

Of course, this can all be altered. But this is the default palette setup, and the closer to this you preside, the easier programming it will be.

im not good at all, but im still working on anatomy its hard to get my head around the poses :D

It needs more long-range attacks, is that possible?

But we are talking about having it mainly long-range with a couple of short range.
