Actually it might be a while before i even get there because right now, final cave(Secret) is driving me nuts.

well... cheating might not be the right word for it.. You would be cheating yourself out of the experience by not saving Curly, and I would also call it damn lazy.. but go ahead, if you want

Just find one right before you fight Balrog (missile form) and have to jump over a pit. That is the point where the story diverges. (I believe, anyway) Good luck and don't fall!

@Lightning Drive. It`s your decision. But you will miss a nice bossfight with Ma Pignon. The hidden final cave is easy if you know this:
Shoot the bats here in this little safe area until you refill your health to the max.
The red daemon fight is also a flawless victory if you walk under him when he jumpes and shoots - then, when he hits the ground, shoot him with a fully charged spur.

I don't have the spur O.o but mmk, i'll give the final cave a go tonight and see how i do! then i'll decide.

I have actually completed hell. I've got no clue how long it took me from when I first discovered Cave Story, as I'm an on-off fan of it. (I'm a super big fan and play it nearly every day for a while, and then I slowly forget about it for a while, and then I remember and start playing again, and so on.)
My final time was 44'25"0, but I was taking forever doing the health respawn trick (by chance, I lost nearly all my health on the second chamber of Hell, on the playthrough I actually beat it on.
) and spending aaaages making sure I had as much health as I could for Ballos. Man, that was hard.
Trying to 3hp Doukutsu now, though. Stuck on Monster X last I tried, it was a while ago and I just came back to the game. (Had no idea it was Cave Story's birthday! Something must've called out to my soul...)

I think if I actually tried right now I can beat hell... and I will attempt to do so now.

UPDATE: as of now I gave it 7 attempts.
The reason I am stopping now is because I have to go to bed.
deaths 1-4 was to the spikes in the first room.
death 5 was to ballos (1st form)
death 6 was to heavy press (more specifically a randome bute)
and finnaly death 7 was after I beat heavy press and it fell on me.
I will give more attempts tomorrow and until then, enjoy your lives.

I just woke up. And now I will give hell some more attempts.
A little while later...
We are slowly making progress guys. And I have more deaths for you.
Death 8 I was in the 3rd rom shooting the first spawn of flying butes when I accidentally walked into spikes (4hp - 10hp = death)
Death 9 Killed by the third normal press in room 3 (its a curse I tell you)
Death 10 was just at the END of room 2 when I ran into, not crushed, RAN INTO a SMALL falling block and died.
Death 11 I actually did quite good on this one. But in the end, my hopes and dreams got crushed by the Ball of Ballos.
More attempts/deaths coming soon.
A bit later.
Death 12 Falling Heavy press.
Attempt 13: Success. Finally. I don't feel completely accomplished but I feel glad that the weight of cave story is finally off my shoulders.
Here is my advice to anyone new playing cave story. Use Nemises on Heavy press, Super Missles on Ballos, and the snake fore shooting the butes and dleets through the walls.
Well I'm glad that's over and I might try other modified versions of hell.

Decided to run through hell again today, to celebrate CS's belated birthday:
1st death:
Was a bit stupid and took too much damage (mainly in the falling blocks room). Died at heavy press (1'56"9).
2nd try:
Got through with a time of 3'10"0. I can do better than that though, should go for under the 3 min mark today.
3rd try:
Ooooohhh so close! 3'01"0. I can do better D:
4th try:
3'00"9. Really? Damn getting the 3 min mark is harder than i remember.
5th try:
Didn't time my boosts right. Died in spike room (0'05"5)
6th try:
Somehow was unable to get out of the way when heavy press died. He crushed me (1'53"1, not that great anyways)
7th time's the charm:
Beat it in 2'57"0. Whoot!

Thats a wierd thing I noticed too.
I succeeded on the 13th minute and on the 13th attempt... wierd...

Yay finished my complete walkthrough [commentary off...]
Here's my hell... it was with keyboard, and the first time I beat hell [in a long time], so not really a speed run... no life pot, and no spur or nemesis

Had to break up the videos since it was over 4 GB...
Total run was like 7:28 or something around there...

I completed Hell in I think it was six minutes my first time going though it. It was a very difficult task for me but the one thing I'm good at is dodging things, close calls mostly but I dodge them non the less.
Had Spur, Sword, Super Missles and I forget, two more I'm pretty sure, all health upgrades and a life pot to make me though the epic final battle....
I'm just about to do it again after a few months of playing the game

How come you didn't use the game's audio? Does your screen recorder not allow that, or were you saving space, or do you think that song is REALLY REALLY GREAT (it's pretty good)?
