Have You Actually Completed Hell?

My friend showed me cavestory (thanks, nick!) and he was stuck on the doctor. I got the game on my mac and breezed right through the game until hell. Then i got there, and i saw i had no missiles and no health capsule, D'OH. so I had to replay the game, and then beat hell on my second try (only 10:16, though, hehe). Just camp out in a spot and charge up your spur, then destroy ALL! ballos' first, second, and fourth forms should be no problem, just save your missles. on the third form, DON'T GET HIT BY THE SKULLS! bleh a wanted to puke after that form

 

Fight Ballos without rockets! - it`s easy and fun

@Everyone: Try Ballos`s last, fully developed form without rockets; if you didn`t try it already! I tried it today for the first time and bet it easily without dying. I do not know why everyone is so frightened from that form and using the missiles, besides that many people even didn`t dare to try it so far.

It`s an easy fight and a little new experience which CS can still give to many.

You can take it down in less than 2 seconds with it.

The first time I played Hell I died at the first boss. The second time I made it all the way to Ballos and died when he went in to his third form. The third time I played it, I played it on my laptop (before I played on my pc) and I actually beat it. This is amazing because my lappy's keyboard is terribly non-responsive. I would often be unable to press both up and left while boosting and it made it difficult.

Since then I have beaten Hell 3 times. I tried to do a speed run twice but I failed terribly both times. I have never gotten better than 6:54 on my time.

 

Ive beaten hell X number of times, but never under 5 minutes, really.

N E wai, I have completed Hell, and if my memory serves me I somehow managed to get 3'18". It took me two days full of repeatedly going through Hell, but I did it. It was a huge fluke and I'd never be able to do it again. After that I used a trainer to get the Safety title screen. Also, killing Ballos isn't too hard without missiles if you have the Spur. Without the Spur or missiles, there's no way I could ever do it.

 

I'd like to see someone defeat Ballos using the bubbler in his eye!

 

Wait.. the safety title screen? whats the requirements for that? In fact, the only title I know how to get is the uner 6:00 minutes one. What others exist?

Less than 6 minutes: Curly & "Running Hell" track.
Less than 5 minutes: Toroko & "Toroko's Theme" track.
Less than 4 minutes: King & a new track that isn't even listed, IIRC.
Less than 3 minutes: Sue & "Safety" track.

I eventually got the courage to get the King title screen. I don't think it's even worth it to go further. At least not for me, White + King is good combo.

Have you ever tried a Bubbler-only run through Sacred Grounds?
It's actually pretty effective... ;
{It just levels down pretty fast if you're not careful}

 

I eventually got the courage to get the King title screen. I don't think it's even worth it to go further. At least not for me, White + King is good combo.

I'm fairly sure Pixel didn't make a title screen for under 2 minutes, since it's impossible to do that without hacking.

confirmed, I checked the assemblah, and the best you can get is sue.

Best time I managed with Fireball-only was 6 minutes 23 seconds.

just did another attempt at hell. it was my best attempt yet. I was at final form ballos him having about between 1/4 and 1/3 health left and I died. I was goign to actuallly make it through in under 5 minutes this time (well, 5 nikamura counter minutes. hell runs slow on my laptop =/ )

 

Would i be considered a cheater if i were to Download a save file for hell AFTER i beat the game, because i screwed up on going to hell during this playthrough(my first time) and i don't want to start over.
