Also yeah it's a jump-scare shit-fest but come on what horror game isn't.
(excluding a few known examples)
If you can only think of a few horror games that aren't built around jump scares, I don't think you've played enough to confidently say that fnarf is better than most horror games.

I never said that FNaF was better than most horror games, I only said that it's a jumpscare shit fest.

Also, I only said a few known examples because I wasn't considering the fact that there are many games in the horror genre that aren't explicitly centered around jumpscares.

Yes because obviously a sequel with a system very similar to the first should take a year to make.
Added with the fact that Scott is a pretty neat programmer, I think a few months is an accurate amount of time for a sequel like this to take.

Before releasing a sequel you should AT LEAST wait for the initial hype to die down. That would be the equivalent of Destiny 2 being released right now (of course it would take years to develop, but thats not the point). People may like sequels, but a few months is not a good idea. Customers just got the first game, and they are still having fun off of it. They are still buying it. But when everyone already has the game, less people will purchase it. Sequel time. Then people spend their money on that game as well, effectively doubling profits.

Of course, this is all theoretical. Sequels don't always make as much money as the first. Sometimes they make more. It all depends of the franchise.

Are you referring to Star Wars? Clearly that was just a movie made to make lots of money.

I cant really think of anything else...actually when i think of it, they pump out like 5 20 movies a year.

What I was trying to say is that Scott didn't mean to have the game come right away. He thought it would take him until 2015 for FNAF2 to be finished. He even said when he released the demo that the game would have come out later (December 25th, 2014) as it was still in beta mode at the time. But due to complications with the demo's public release and from how certain Youtubers had not expericenced any glitches in their special demos, Scott apologized to the fans by releasing the final game when the demo was out.

Holy fuck, this.
I think this post sums up the entire Fnaf, as regrettably as I must say this, "series".

Just pump out as many games as possible in as little time as possible in order to ride the hype until it dies out.

But seriously, how long has #2 been out? Not long enough for a third, I'll say.

Did you even read any of the posts after that post.

Anyway there's been no sign (afaik) that Scott is currently making FNaF 3, and if there were then I'd be really damn surprised.

Scott seems like a smart dude I think even he would realize he might need to wait a while before he releases the next game.

IMO he might as well capitalise on the hype train while it's still going, once that wears off it'll be much harder to generate buzz about any new games in the series.

He's taking a break for Christmas, leaving us without FNaF3 until at least February or March.
Thank god he's slowing down.
