One thing I don't get:

I would like to ask you for permission to make a Cave Story fan game named "Cave Story 2".
A fan made sequel.

That seems a semi-confirmation for me that Pixel felt uncomfortable about the obvious title name.

Instead of "Cave Story 2" how about "The Cave Story Fan Sequel!" (exclamation point included). :D

Though I still think that my red flower war idea would make a good prequel.

So, anyone have a draft script of the whole story or something? Draft stages, battles, this and that...so I can get some ideas on what to make =/

Well I'd say that's pretty conclusive. Looks like you guys need a better name. There was already a mod called Cave Story 2 anyway, come to think of it... Still, I wouldn't push the envelope too much. Don't do anything silly plz :<

I don't even think we should have "Cave Story" included in any part of the game. i think that's what Pixel is against; having his game's original name in the name of our mod.

Make it a spin-off then. Maybe if no CS characters are featured, he won't mind.

Am I crazy, or did a couple posts go missing a little while back?
'Cuz I remember someone saying something about how instead of having an all-new cast the game should only feature a new main character, and that post doesn't seem to be here anymore. Also missing is my reply to said comment along with my new character concept sprite.

By the look of the submitted sprites and tiles you get the impression that people are treating this like a mod and are unable to get out of that mindset. In the end this would have either have looked like a cave story mod or have been abandoned like the last community project.

I think it is fairly obvious that pixel would not permit a sequel.

And I thought that the quote was just a misunderstanding.

Oh man. Poor Lyger. he spent so much effort for nothing... Or maybe not for nothing cause he could aways use it for a mod of his own or something. >_>|||
