• Hey everyone happy Christmas Eve we're aware of what's happened with the source code so to keep this simple absolutely don't post it on the site or use it to make mods with (it's not particularly preferable toward this end anyway) and tread lightly in general until we see how this settles, thanks to all and have a great holiday season -DT

Oh well yeah that makes sense why it never got anywhere cause it'd take far too much time to make a brand new engine like cave story and not enough people are committed enough or have enough knowledge for it.

Hmmm... Okay, everyone who's willing to send five years to create a freeware game, raise your hand.

Hey, don't look at me, Gordon. Pixel made CS from scratch and it took five years. There's no reason to think that this project will be much faster.

A fan sequel. With Pixel's permission!?
Just wow.
And i already saw the stuff you posted about it, and it looks awesome!!!

I wish i could help >_> but i all do is translation English-to-Portuguese.
Of course i could do some beta testing, but looks that you don't need more people on that (got Vista and Linux).
I also do some story work, but mostly only in portuguese, so i guess that would help at all, maybe on sugestion here and there but nothing more >_>

You could is do this a bit more in secret, you know for not spoiling the suprise

Nope. He was totally against the idea, which is why this project died in the first place.

It isn't hard to make a total new Jump & Run engine.
Well it's maybe hard but it doesn't take long, just look at Agora.

Yeah that's probably true. I don't know much about programming but I'm sure that making a new engine shouldn't be too much of a problem for those who know what they're doing but making all the different npcs that are neccesary is something else.

Coding would be the hardest part considering how tedious it gets if done in large quanitys...

1. This project is dead. Pixel disapproved of the idea.
2. There was never going to be a PSP build in the first place.

Not to be mean or anything, but I don't think Cave Story could have a satisfying sequel...
It was just that good of a game =D
I think Pixel realizes that also, or he just doesn't want a sequel....
