How do you get the "Coward" achievement? I got the worst ending possible, but it didn't pop up. Also, why do we still need to reset the game to get past the "The End" screen? If I remember correctly, the DSi and 3DS versions just reset the game automatically.

And was the WiiWare version in widescreen? I'm pretty sure it was, and this one is 4:3...

I forgot to ask it during the beta test but, is there a way to deactivate Quote's blonde sprite from Hard Mode? To me the original Quote is way prettier than him.

You can just edit the spritesheet.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\cave story+\data\base\MyChar.bmp

EDIT: While we're talking about modding, I'm making a mod that wants you to have Booster 2.0 before it unlocks. I know the syntax is RI__, but I can't find a hex list of items anywhere. Can anyone help?

On the Steam forums, for the "CaveStory+.exe has stopped working" thread.
They are saying the game just hangs or terminates after trying to start it up.

For crying out loudddddddddddddd it still says an admin has to activate my account or something ><
I'm pretty sure this would fix their problem but whateverrrr


Can someone post this on my behalf?

This is just a guess, but... Hmm... uh try this :

Download the msvcr100.dll (It comes in a ZIP file, so extract that) [Not the dll fixer thing]
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcr100

And put it into your Cave Story+ application directory.
(My Cave Story+ directory was : C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\cave story+ )
Throw that .dll in there if it doesn't already exist.

Now open Steam and try hitting play again... Any luck? (It's worth a shot, I ran into a problem like this when I first got Cave Story+)

I asked about toggles in the beta but guess that never happened :/

screw it sold all my tf2 items for some games including cave story+ tomorrow is gonna be a big day :)

anyways tested it right now and it works perfectly on my crappy pc

I would like to note that while that list of items nox gave is correct, it is in decimal, not hex (If you were indeed looking for hex).

Thankfully, the internet has granted us some boons expressly for these purposes.

If he is modding the game, then he needs decimal. He only needs hex values for hacking Profile.dat. Nox gave the correct list.

Thank you for replying, you're awesome! I noticed it particularly in the first Egg Corridor track, where there are some crazy stereo effects at the start but they seem to be missing in CS+. Or maybe my ears are broken. In any case the original soundtrack sounds a lot better than it does in the WiiWare version, so good job guys ^^

The Item Get Fanfare and the Boss Clear Fanfare now loop. That hasn't happened in any of the other versions of the game I've played, including the various Cave Story+ betas.

This bug snuck through. Should be an easy fix.

Unrelated to that, does anyone on here use/have Linux installed on their machine(s)?

I'm using the latest version of Ubuntu right now for my University's projects.
Are you planning on a Linux release?
