I like CS3D. Seeing different areas reimagined with a new coat of paint is really cool. The hitboxes are wonky, but other than that and a few small bugs here and there my experience personally was fine.

My brother gave it to me without saying it was bad, so I went in knowing nothing about this game. I mean, from a oblivious standpoint, its good but with a decent amount of flaws. From a holistic standpoint, its pretty bad, there are probably worst games in and out of the Sonic series, I never played Boom, and never ET but if it was bad enough for people to buy copies just to throw them in landfills en masse, its probably really bad. Sonic '06 is compared to ET and other terrible games often, and if you acknowledge the story issues (Sonic kissing a human, something about this is discomforting), and game breaking glitches, I'd say collectively and holistically it is bad. The original 3D Sonic games, (Adventure 1 and 2) are much better in comparison, they're not as modern but by far beat out '06. Even Heroes has stronger points against it. In some aspects I'd say maybe Shadow the Hedgehog is worse, but holistically not as bad as '06. I haven't played a lot of the newer Sonic games (besides Generations), and I don't know about the new ones coming out in the next year or so. But I think it might be much to say the rest of series pales in comparison. By the way I don't mean to shut you down whatsoever Blink, I'm just saying it's not all that great, in its own right and without knowledge of other better Sonic titles, (which was me a decade ago when I played this,) it might seem pretty decent.

Yeah no I can see the merit behind the system. It's not TERRIBLE, and it definitely helps keep you from getting too overpowered. It was just a massive pain when I was doing a Nuzlocke of Black 2. Spent so much time getting new Pokemon up to speed and every unfortunate loss meant loads more grinding.

The exp scaling in gen 5 barely made a difference because pretty much everything was given higher base exp, along with as you said Audinos being everywhere and getting a Lucky Egg shoved right in your face. It has always been easier to blow through the games with a single overpowered thing than to try to make a "proper" team, I guess that's why GF finally gave up and just started giving exp to everything.

But yeah gen 5 was great, it was a genuine breath of fresh air and was what gen 4 should have been right from the start. I'm so glad we got at least one generation of fully animated sprites before they went entirely 3D.
