Your Stupidest Deaths in Cave Story?

So I'm not the only one!

 

Trust me 9.9/10 of my friends playing CS for the first time got killed by it. And an even more stupid death was I was just about to beat Ballos for the first time ever, and my computer lagged (strangely I don't know how it happened) and I boosted into the one of Ballos' eyes. I'll never forget it.

 

Hoo boy, I'm sure finding myself dying a lot more stupidly than I normally do ever since I found this thread... Anywho, I was about to beat Ballos in around 4 minutes and 30 seconds with around 30-40ish health left when I screwed up boosting into his eye socket SUPER hard.
First, I boosted too high and ran out of invincibility frames.
After going down to the spikes for more frames, I boosted too close to Ballos, bouncing me away and into one of his eye orbs.
Getting desperate, I tried to just jump into the socket with the help of one of the eye orbs.
However, doing so forfeited enough health that by the time he had a sliver of health left, I ended up dying.
I swear, I haven't screwed up a boss fight THIS badly since... well... the Heavy Press, maybe?

 

I died way too many times in this game, but the more stupid ones were:

when I drowned in the reservoir,
when I thought Basil was an enemy that you could kill, and,
getting beaten by Toroko when she decides to attack you out of nowhere in the beginning of the game. .-.

 

I drowned in the Labrynth once...
Seriously, no one drowns on purpose in Cave Story

No one does, it happens by mistake.

 

My stupidest death, in my opinion, was when I got to the scone set of presses in last cave hidden.
And I jumped.
Because I would do this so much, I can now beat the red ogre without taking a hit. I died that many times. (Btw I'm pretty bad at the game)

 

We were all bad at the game at 1 point or another....another stupid death being I ran right into Balrog (battle 4 in the boulder chamber) on hard mode, and forgot to save after Monster X......

 

on the 3ds version

drowned in the reservoir
got trapped underneath where you fight the first enraged mimiga (is that how you spell it?????) between "basil" and a wall
went balls to the wall against the final boss
drowned while fighting the core for the first time
fell on a spike in the first cave 5 times (WTF?!)

on the pc version
the door killed me(WTF?!)
drowned in the reservoir to get toroko's pendant (didnt jump over the platforms i just entered the water from the right and was trying to get out before i drowned this is sad a split second before i got out i drowned *face-palm*)
fell on a spike right after the game started

 

A bad death was :
-Feeling compelled to try Santa's spike pit, cause surely that randomly placed trap leads to a secret for the brave and adventurous.

-Ignoring the Heavy Press after a short lived victory dance.

-Laughing at Sue's warning to "jump as far as you can"

-And of course the mandatory chinfish ride...

-Plus many more "special" deaths... cause curosity killed the cat, many, many times

 

Falling in Santa's house deathtrap out of curiosity (I still wonder why Santa built a deathtrap in his home..)
The deserted house sandcroc (What is that crocodile doing in a house in the first place..)
Getting killed by one of the green missile things after I finally defeated Monster X,
Core's energy balls,
and The Littles' house (seriously, who puts a freaking HOUSE just below the Outer Wall's ledge..).

Surprisingly, I never actually drowned while fighting the Core.

 

I have died 3x in a row on first spike so I almost uninstalled Cave Story. The graphics of the first cave did not look that good so I was "Bad graphics, annoying spikes, do I need this?" - but I have kept playing and saw how awesome this game is.

You actually got them to play it? Wow. No matter how much I try to introduce Cave Story to my classmates, they don't listen.

 

Dying from that goldfish thing in the Reservoir.

 

I talked to the first Chulu in Egg Corridor and tested how much damage Basil does. Am i the only one?

 

Nope.

 

It's not stupid unless you didn't save first. But I took the blue robot's word and tried to avoid the Basil until I accidentally fell while trying to land a jump over the passage where it runs.

 

I killed the red ogre then accidentally pressed the wrong arrow key and got crushed.
