Your Stupidest Deaths in Cave Story?

IDK if this counts but I was going for best ending and beat the Undead Core and was going to the Prefab House but it wouldn't open because I forgot to talk to Curly TWICE to get the Iron Bond. So I had to go back down the Final Cave to get it and then back up and defeat Misery, The Doctor and The Undead Core again.

that sounds like a lot of fun

the ones in the plantation are fun except when you miss and then you lose

but if you start at the save point at the top its still fun because you get to try again



if you have the booster 0.8 can you get down after the heavy presses stuff?

The rocket and the booster 2.0 have similar coding. They have the same strength and speed, but the booster 2.0 has limited fuel. *chuckle* Not for me. But yeah, with an infinite booster, you can accomplish the same results of the rocket.

Ah, that is great. Until a cat or something jumps on you and causes Quote to jump, use Booster, and be in pressing matters...

 

I'm not sure if this really counts, as it was from a mod, and it wasn't really a death, but it was the result of an action that would usually result in death, that being i forgot to jump. Here is the result:

The Show when it originally came was pretty alright, I liked the 2x graphics and it had branching paths and had some witty dialogue. Bit of a shame it was cancelled after it's "first season".

 

Like many others, I died to the spikes in the first cave because I wasn't used to how floaty/slippery Quote is when he jumps and lands, so I slid into them a few times when trying to farm up the Polar Star to level three before leaving the cave

Never accidentally died to the door or Toroko's stick (aside from getting the Steam Achievement for it)

I did get killed by the Colons during the Curly fight though. Now I only use the Fireball in that fight to keep them down and out

 

Every time I start a new game, I always forget that the door out of the first cave is actually a mimic.

 

I always screw up in the first cave when speedrunning.

 

Been trying my hand at the various challenges that come with Cave Story+, and my biggest reason for dying repeatedly is impatience, and the Booster never having enough boost when I need it - especially in the three challenges where it plays a vital role (Sanctuary, Nemesis, and Wind Fortress)

Pixel-perfect gaming has never been one of my strong points and I'm glad it's not utterly necessary in the main game

- THAT DOOR from the beginning
- Jumping into that DEATHPIT that Santa owns
- Stupid Power Critter landing on me
- Trying to get that Life Capsule from the Execution Chamber in Bushlands/Grasstown
- Falling off the Outer Wall
- Not getting off the Plantation Rocket in time
- Falling into a pit of spikes in the first part of the Blood Stained Sanctuary/Hell because my Booster ran out

'nuff said.

 

I remember once I beat the heavy press for the first time & I got killed by his falling corpse. I also beat ballos' 1st form & his 2nd form crushed me instantly.
