Which is the hardest boss in Cave Story?

In my first play-through, Monster X was incredibly hard - but only because I didn't think to kill all the Gaudis before fighting the boss. Once I did that it was easy.

 

has to be....ballos!!!he is just soo hard. then core his big white balls hit -20!! thentoroko mad version!

 

That's not the only thing it's big white balls hit...

It's not that bad of a bump, though.
And I don't understand how Ballos is apparently so hard..

It's also alright to bump as long as you have something relevant to add.
It's much more preferred than just making new threads all the time for the same stuff. {Which I think this thread actually does...}

I'd list Ballos as the toughest boss for me just because of the gauntlet you have to go through to fight him. That and he's got all these forms to trip you up on until you've died to him several times or so.

While that makes sense, the boss himself, isn't very difficult.

If your point is that Ballos alone isn't hard, it's the gauntlet, I'd have to point out you can't fight him without going through the gauntlet first, it still has to count somehow.
It's really just another part of fighting him, you've got to reach him first.

You make a good point. Those Sacred Grounds.....

Oh, and I agree with the post title.

 

Ballos is also the only real multiple-form boss in the game. He has 4 forms you have to kill. This is made a bit easier with Curly on your back, but that's still a lot of boss.

 

for me the hardest where
1: Ballos(only managed to beat him once and never managed to repeat the deal(not counting the one in the sonic mod)
2: Monster X(even if the difficulty gap between him and Ballos is huge IMHO)
3: The core(only due to the drowning hazard)

and well the easiest are.
1: Balrog(all forms)
2: Misery(first boss i managed to no scratch)
3: Heavy press(after 2 or 3 tries i pretty much figured my strategy and now usually come out of the battle with more HP then i started with.the hardest part i find not losing track of the rolling balls)

 

First Balrog is definitely the hardest boss. First few seconds after the battle begins he speed up himself to the sonic speed, and when he catch you - he beat all the shit out of you. And this is his regular attack! When he absorb enough power he jump into the sky! But then, his landing causing so big earthquake, that you can't see where he is at this moment. But if he landing right on you, ooohhhh shi-! Pity fact that i completed him after many years of practise, broken keyboards and nerves.

Ok, that rule must have been tweaked on other forums I've been on then.

I noticed that I haven't given an answer yet, so in my opinion the hardest boss was Ballos (mainly due to the "gauntlet" before him, because it has been previously affirmed that it was part of the battle).

 

If Sacred Grounds counts as Ballos as well I guess I'll have to revise my decision from Toroko+ to Ballos *_*

Yeah, I probably do.
I mean, it's easy with the Snake and the Machine Gun, but I don't really like either of those..
