The door in first cave was by far the most frustrating boss fight.

In fact, it is possible (though difficult) to destroy the Undead Core before it even finishes its initial move forward. I just tested it.

(Use Super Missiles on Misery to put her down in seconds, forcing the Undead Core to open prematurely, then Spur it to death.)

Isn't that a waste of Super Missiles for hell?

Yes. I didn't say it was advisable.

Though if you're not speedrunning, there's usually enough Super Missiles in Sacred Ground to refill you anyway.

case in point: i had exactly 6 missiles to start my Hell run left over from the core, which i immediately used to bust open the XP capsules
always have enough for Ballos by the time i get to Heavy Press, and there may/may not be more in the room in the top right of the Passage? room

whee, 300th post

Lol? Monster x was a breeze. The hardest for me was the core. Took me like 5 tries to kill him. The easiest boss (excluding balrog or whatever the toaster's name is) for me was the undead core.I killed him in less than 3 minutes.

The boss fight that generally gives me the most trouble relative to when it occurs in the game is/are the Sisters.

Rabid Toroko is waaay overlooked. The only boss that can kill me now, those blocks are quick, do much damage, and almost always level you down.

I know it's easy, but was it really the easiest? Are you counting Pooh Black and Red Demon as bosses?

Why?

Yeah, she's a pain, and requires a lot of dodging skill.

You should see the Jenka's Nightmare version.

I thought the Undead Core was easier than those two you mentioned. Also Monster X. Curly was also easier.

does it beat fighting in a room that's about 6x6 with death spikes on the lower corner spikes and, iirc, a damage spike laying next to the right side death spikes?

Once you get the timing of the blocks coming down, you can beat toroko+ without jumping.

unless i'm mistaken, i remember fighting Toroko+ like that in the Lost Land mod
and if i am mistaken, then it's a horridly sadistic idea someone should totally do.

Indeed.

It's still a reasonably difficult fight, however.

Is said mod finished?

Yeah, it's one of the few mods that was actually finished. I can honestly say it's one of the best, too.

Okay, so I just finished it.

Toroko in that is slightly harder than the one in Jenka's Nightmare, I believe.

The one in Jenka's Nightmare has a (10 damage) spike which moves with you and stops you jumping, but has more room to maneuver.

I must say, I found the final bosses of that underwhelming.

I mean, I don't even think I needed the Cure-All.
