I don't know how much you know about me and noxid, but our relationship goes a bit farther back then I would like it to. During his first few days on the forum, I presumed noxid was a rl friend of mine who I had coaxed into joining the forums after many months of struggle. I was really close to this friend, and even though I greeted him by code words only he would know, Noxid never attempted to tell me I was talking to the wrong person. So the saga of deceit began.

Over the following years, and even months, noxid kept trying to get me closer and closer to him. When he wanted to "learn" how to hack, he first asked me, and when I declined, begged gir to teach him some tricks.[1] We were all oblivious to the fact that he was already a master hacker, and had only befriended us to steal our ideas. Yes. that is the sad truth of it. For a little under a year before the wiiware release, I had been working on a 2x graphics replica of cave story.[2] I had put blood, sweat, and tears into this, and one night over visitor messages, noxid asked me what I had been working on.

So I told him.

Just a month or two later, noxid (and GIR, who, by this point, he had won over) proclaimed creation of a 2x res hacked facilitated by noxid's stolen powers. I, being the reasonable guy that I am, said that was pretty cool. If a newb could do such a hack, then they deserve praise.

But one by one I kept losing my ideas to noxid - he took and implemented my pxtone.dll idea over the evernote we shared. he waded through my documentation of hacks I was doing for dragonboots, and proclaimed mastery of ones I had already demonstrated I knew how to do. eventually, one col night on irc, I said I wanted to make a particle system. After hours of coding on my part (figuring out differential equations involving linear algebra, optimization through the use of spacial hashing, and the evntual creation of a minimized table and code) noxid said he would help me with the implementation[3] (the fuck? IMPLEMENTATION!?). Obviously that, too, was stolen for use in king's story.



Tonight was different.
GIR has been noticing things noxid has been taking too, and we were all three on irc together tonight.[4] The three musketeers! Glory be. Today we decided to make a page about pxtones on wikipedia. Not only did noxid steal my account, but he invalidated all my claims, erased all my contributions, and even posted how "pxtones were implemented in king's story by n0xid of the cave story forums"[5]

[1] - Basically truth, except he actually asked gir first. >:E
[2] - Barely. I am not near motivated enough to do something like that. (I had gotten the title screen to be pretty when he announced his final version)
[3] - Timescrew here. Noxid offered to help and THEN I put in my hours of work.
[4] - Lotsa hacks gir did were used by nox before he could announce them. What a jerk.
[5] - Yes, but at my request. The account he "stole" I actually made for him so he could create articles.

I would like to thank all the muffins that made this possible.

Yep, this one too.

I'd like to call attention to MY OWN little charade in this thread. I've been subtly changing the titles of all of my posts so that anyone who replies to them will also have a different title. At least one other person has one of these titles in their post.

Heck, I thought Noxid is a good person, but I beLIEved gir and he fooled me.
Now I'd better be more cautious from now on.

although what you say is pretty weird since i asked him weather or not he wants help on king story double resing graphics.

Incorrect.

Consider these two statements:

1. Noxid is still working on King's Story.
2. Noxid has quit modding.

Both are true.

I'm pretty sure if you would just read my blog it would all make sense

And yes, I actually did write that statement with the intent of it being true (both me getting banned and me quitting modding).
