HEY! I'm at least trying to help somewhat.

Why not post WIPs of the sprites? If you're not sure of quality, why not let us see? Though, I can image how difficult it can be to make sprites look correct. Tried, failed so epically that the file corrupted.

Well it's a start.
Creating sprites from scratch is by no means easy [I would know, my reimu sprite has undergone many reitterations (did I spell that right?)].
Some people are just born with a gift I guess. :/

OMG ACTUAL ADVICE
make reimu's skin flesh tone instead of white (quote was a robot, all the human characters in Cave Story are regular and fleshy).
it's kind of hard to tell what's going on with reimu's arms and feet, try defining them a bit more.
Why are her eyes red? Reimu's eyes are blue.
Also, reimu has armpit holes on her sleeves. Don't forget to add those.

She's using the original palette of the mychar.pbm, and is restricted to the 16 colors it uses.

Ryuuoutan, you should save the file as a 24-bit bitmap, and then rename it to a pbm (or just leave it as a bmp if you renamed the extension you are using for image file types).

 

Use this. It'll make editing sprites much easier. Replace doukutsu.exe with that. With this you don't need to add (C)Pixel to the end of sprites.

 

they ARE added. :/ dude i used CaveEditor so i could remove the (C)Pixel requirement

 

im using 256 colors..
