thanks

i was thinking of getting the spur considering i need it to get the whimsical star

on the other hand machine gun makes the run faster and the turbocharge could replace the whimsical

on my left foot the snake makes hell a few seconds faster

i dont know, but for now the spur is on my mind

But getting Whimsical Star would waste time, wouldn't it? You'd have to backtrack quite a bit through the Labyrinth.

and Machine Gun is without a doubt the fastest route to take, because with it you can cut so many corners.

You likely won't need them. (if you've played through the game on 3 HP that is)

Also, why did you skip them? It doesn't help your time as you'll have had to collect them anyway. @_@

It would help his time because then he'd be retrieving them with the Booster 2.0...

Nah, you could prolly pull it off somewhere inbetween, ignoring the life capsules that require you to go too far out of your way. Lessee...

If you grab the life capsule in the first cave, but ignore both in the egg corridor and the Yamashita farm... EC on 6HP shouldn't be hard... grab the one in the first half of Grasstown but not the second half... get both in the Sand Zone since they're both not far out of your way... brings you up to 21 HP by the Labyrinth... get the one there, that's 26... after which there's the two in the Plantation... depending on how much time you're willing to give up, that's either 26, 30, 31, or 35 HP going into the end of the game...

Well, see what works for you.
But if you skip the Egg Corridor ones, they're gone for good!

The beetle trick was -very- clever, and I've definitely never seen anyone do that before. However, you wasted a lot of time doing the Egg Corridor backwards. IGNORE ALL THE BEETLES FOLLOWING YOU. They're slightly slower than you. Never should your finger leave the left arrow key.

Mmm, even if that's true, it's still unnecessary work, and skipping it provides less opportunity to mess up. I mean, I can easily make it through the EC1 backwards killing only two following beetles, and those only because they come at me from the front.

Plus, missing some of those jumps definitely lost you time.

i have several questions regarding it....

1, should i do this? will it appeal to everyone

2, what kind of run should i do? 3 HP, 100%, any%, ect.

3, will doing a multi-segment run be alright? i will be uploading each segment to youtube with the time it took to finish that said segment in the description

4, any speed tricks you know of? ex: you dont have to talk to this person to go here, ect. anything's fine, because there are things im unaware of, im sure

sorry if this seems rushed, i'm a bit caught up in something
Why do we care? Everone does speedruns, and yours is no different. I'm sorry, but I'm sick of coming here and seeing"Hey guys I'm doing a speed run like everyone else." It's just unorigional. I want to see some new, interesting topics.

"If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing."

If you don't like everyone posting about how they're doing a speedrun, guess what? You can simply ignore the topic. Some people like to watch all the speedruns, I imagine.

Plus, he did figure out that nifty new trick in the EC...

Which is why we watch speedruns. Because different players have different tricks and it's interesting to see.

The riding the beetle trick was first done in Blu-Blu's run long ago =o

He also came up with the bat trick in Grasstown that saves about a minute.

Doesn't that, like, screw up the game or something? Or are you referring to some trick other than the one where you skip the first Jellyfish Juice and move on directly to the second part of Grasstown?

Sorry, I haven't watched the vid. I'm on crappy dial-up. >_>
