X took me... Once? Yeah. Stand under him with sword. Shoot till he dies. Jump when he drives. With sword 3, the things that come out will protect you from his projectiles.

I beat Cave Story in under 6 hours for the first time in honor of Cave Story's birthday!

And I shaved down my 44'25"0 to a mere 10'29"3, which still sucks but whatever. I'll work on it later.

I was up to Monster X with 3hp when I started the new game, so that's a sort of achievement. Now, if I had *beaten* Monster X, that would be an achievement.

Man, I remember when I cursed the skies at the devilish Hell B1 with its need for expert Booster skills. Can't remember the last time I died in B1 now.

*Captain Nostalgia nostalgias away!*

Edit: To be more exact, it was probably more like 4 hours or something. I realized when I dropped down to the Plantation floor and found no Curly that I had made the incredibly bonehead move of LEAVING HER IN THE WATERWAY HUT. >< So at some period of time after 6 pm I started again. Finished less than a minute before midnight, too.

Just beat Hell for the first time! (this year)
I started a Cave Story playthrough two days ago and finished it today. This time I got to hell with the snake so I might even break my record for finishing it! (I had the Spur last time)

Congratulations on posting this in the correct thread. You wouldn't believe how many "I did it!" threads we've had here already. Also congrats on your successful Snake run. Hell can be tough without Spur's Uber-Mega-Beam-Of-Death and MG's propelling ability.

It was tough indeed, but I somehow managed to beat it in like 4:40, after months of not playing Cave Story at all.
Guess I became really good at that level.
I think i'll make myself a new CS shortcut and start playing Hell like an addict again.
Oh and, what was the best record for hell, again?

Why are people so proud to beat Monster X on minimal items? I mean, it's definitely a hard boss, but it's just the first hard boss you come to. I've given up for today on beating the Core, because it doesn't seem to have any easy guerrilla strategy to beat it. And because my left hand is sore from all the rapid firing.

I beat the Core on Wii Hard Mode today. That was really tough... I could only do it after leveling-down my Blade to 2 on those fuzzcores.

I beat sacread grounds 'bout a week ago with 12'48"6 for the first time.
I took it easy and slow on ballos's fist two forms, but then that third form

Angles poping up everywhere i was hitting X so much, i'm a lefty :eek:, then i looked up for a sec and rembered the spur wasn't my only gun. Ballos was down 3/4 of his health, and i hadnt even used the missles:D

That "so nevous i was shaking state" Because i was so close was quickly ended:cool:

Nothing to report. I shaved off 3 seconds without even really trying to in a Hell Speedrun. O.o

I had a Hell file w/o lifepot. I didn't know about DLing saves from the tribute site, and I was unwilling to start anew.....

So I made this.

I beat the Sacred Grounds for the first time last night. Many mistakes every time before I did it, almost making it and then failing, and then when I beat it, I didn't even use the life pot.
Also, got the alien medal. Felt good about that, too.

This was on my Wii. Next MAYBE I'll try hard mode. :mahin:

I beat Hell for the first time literally at 11:59 on New Years Eve. I was like "Yay I beat it in 2010!"
