• Hey everyone happy Christmas Eve we're aware of what's happened with the source code so to keep this simple absolutely don't post it on the site or use it to make mods with (it's not particularly preferable toward this end anyway) and tread lightly in general until we see how this settles, thanks to all and have a great holiday season -DT

She is a he and lots of your posts are just troll posts, member's PM'd me.
You're just a stupid troll, don't play the "hurted".

The first part of my post was very clearly an overdramatic joke, for one. Xristox... She's a he? I knew it. What's with all the gender fakers around here? =D

Oh. That was so absolutely clever, Shi. Thanks for actually putting effort into your insult and upgrading it to a Kindergarten level of slander. Excuse me, but my avatar doesn't display a female character. You do realize how confusing that is, right? Yeah.

It's just a avatar man and not a "photo" of yourself.
You still have to troll don't you?

True, however, it's still extremely confusing regardless. I mean, truly, who here originally thought Shi was a girl because of his Avatar? How about xristox?

Now you just look ignorant for disregarding the point, and you know damned well what I meant in the first place.

Shi is making me look gay here...

Besides, kag, you have absolutely no reason to insult another member. Here's a tip and try drawing yourself. And if you take time to read Xris's posts , you'd realise that they contain a millionfold more substance than you, because what he can fit in a non-capitalised sentence is worth more than the page-long crap you type. I'm a bit surprised you aren't banned yet, but it'll take not long if you keep this rate up, I assure you.

I also would like to apologise to SP for sympathising with kag.

Just so this topic has something that prevents it from closing down:

Messing up the storyline. Eg: Making a sequel to the normal ending to the game with Booster alive, but you begin with v 0.8 without any introduction.

Ok, sorry for being a miserable idiot who always ruins the fun and/or kills the topic, but it's time to get on-topic! So here's what I think can ruin your mod:

1. A long and boring introduction (I'm not implying this to any mod that's around this site)
2. Bad spelling and even worse gramm[e]r.
3. Lack of story line, or the "OMG SUM DOOD KILD UR DAD SO U MSUT KIL DAT DOOD 2 AVENJ UR DAD LOLOL!" cliche.
4. Bright colours (someone mentioned this).
5. Too many life capsules.

That's all I suppose. Sorry for my bad english lol, it's not my main language.

P.S I wasn't implying this to any mods that are in here, I was just pointing out my opinion.

3 things:
1: My FiRsT PoSt! ~First post dance~
2: I'm just wondering if an theatrical style (ie. long cut-scenes, a lot of dialogue...) would make the game a little too... flashy-esqu (and therefore "bad").
3: I am currently working on a Mod, a sort-of-kinda prequel-type thing. I've re-done the opening so far (Kings; I figured where better to start - plus it gave me a chance to learn the TSC codes and junk), and would like an outside opinion of my work. (Just saying help would be nice~)

You're making a mod? Have you been thinking of releasing a demo of some sort? Cause, you know, more mods = more fun.

A demo is in order...
Maybe once I figure out where I want the story to go... o.o;

So far it's... *SPOILER*
Complete: An alternate opening screen (A ritual showing Misery creating* (and becoming cursed by) the Crown.) (Balrog just happens to be there... though his reaction to being cursed is a kinda "Huh? Wha was that?")

In progress: All new maps... I hope.

Plus I'm re-working the item descriptions (same function, different title) to better suit the time frame (that ambigous 10 years ago...)

* I took a creative liscense and assumed a Mimiga sacrifice... ;]

Why do you need TSC help when all tutorials are out there?

TSC is not coding, its scripting. :/

Its actually quite easy, just study the Event functions in Sue's and the TSC.txt.

I don't mean a large number of cut-scenes, but a few long ones that may run to say... a minute and thirty seconds? (A long-winded ritual~ ;])...

And, scripting or coding, it's all gibberish to me...
Though I have picked up a few things...

How to use events, changing one thing into another... Making lightining...
And, I mean, maybe I'm not as inert at scripting as I thought, but I'm no expert.
I assembled an intro with no help... Apart from that list of TSC commands.

If you'd like to see the intro:
http://www.thestarkeepers.com/Cave-Story/CSBoots1.0.zip

I feel it had a more relevent feel to where I want the story to go.

Yeah, just look up the script and search for it in TSC.TXT. Like <TRA and <PRI and so on...
