My point is simply to add a safeguard. You and I know that the editors don't mix, but others don't know this, and that's a fairly common source of errors. Simply adding an error message when trying to open a game edited with Cave Editor would make it clearer and prevent people from breaking the game in this way.

Now that I agree with.
But the suggestion to make them compatible would be a waste of effort.

I haven't seen an update in a while, how is it going? Will the new version be out soon?

I've a suggestion for you. Make the script editor like Cave Editor's, and also like Notepad++, in that there's auto colour changing in important parts of the script (TSC commands, variables, and whatnot) so we can tell what we're doing easier.

It will be able to "convert" mods into SW projects and it won't matter which editor you used.

Don't worry about that, it will have color.

No, sadly not. I have trouble with finding some decent DirectDraw Tutorial for VB.NET.

Not much, like I said I'm trying to get DirectDraw running.

What negativity...

Well, if this isn't going to get me what I want, I shall simply PM him and see.
No developer appreciates being asked about progress every few days. If something of interest has happened then SP will tell us. You asking about progress will do nothing to speed things up, it is just your foolish need to have an update as a substitute for the actual release until it comes out. Quit being impatient and wait like the rest of us.

Sorry:o

I'll be patient, but I'm gonna say this.

Forgive my childish act, it was very immature for me to act in such a matter.

S.P., take your time, no hurry.

I have a habit of misunderstanding things, so if you could clear this up.

This means even if I've modified my cave story file several times (In SW-0.2) Changing maps around and lots of script changes, that I will be able to import this into your new version and not lose anything?

That's basically right. All modified forms of CS should/will work in the new version, whereas currently they don't.

That's right.
But I guess CE won't be able to edit "exported" projects anymore.

Well, thats nice. I've been modding one of the mods that sort of died off from the showcase forum, and I didn't want to lose my progress.

Re: Sue's Workshop - Again in Development!

I have to say, I don't particularly think this project business is fair. If not to the end user, then to Pixel. It's my understanding people asked him before they began mods, and he said yes, apparently grudingly. Key word is grudingly; Pixel didn't have a way to make it so his game couldn't be tampered with, how fair is it to him that people who are modifiying his heart and soul do?

If people want it that other people can edit it, they can handle out the project files. And if they don't want it that other people can edit it, then it's just their right and you have to respect it. Plus I'm not making this a direct file editor, because you can screw up too much. Sorry mate, but this won't change.

S.P. Gardebiter said:
I consider Maps and Scripts as minor edits. I'm speaking of much more important information.

If you're looking for scripts, then you can still open it up with the other editors.

Suggestion: Would you be able to include a "Verify Files" option that checks through all the files that would be related to cave story (e.g every pbm in \stage that starts with prt) and hex in (C)Pixel to the end of it?
