I think its a bit unfair to dump the blame entirely on him. :D

Nawp, he won't, due to the "overall immaturity of the boards", he is alive tho, if you want to just talk to him about assembly.
Hmm, a real shame that, it sounded really good as well. :(

I don't think it's Jacob rather than the people who are asking something and then don't even be thankful for the answer.
Alot of people asked RuneLancer for things, RuneLancer explained those things and most often people didn't understand. (Resulting in more questions)
RuneLancer did alot of tutorials, but no one seemed to be interested in them, mainly because the people here don't know assembly and/or are too lazy to learn it. No one said "Thanks", they were all like: "Explain it! I have no idea!"
Since there are not enough people here who know assembly or are still interested in information and real modding, he is gone.

Prof. Eich knew a lot about assembly and how Cave Story works, even more than RuneLancer I guess, sadly he left, because he has no time anymore. Then there is RuneLancer who had much knowledge too, he is gone again. Cookie who knew about assembly too is also gone. (The same reason RuneLancer is gone now)

Now, with all those people gone, I'm the only one here left who knows assembly.

know what else sounds really cool? people who don't bump ancient threads!!
especially when the creator has not been on the forum for ages, and it even says so in the post almost directly above yours!!!
cool huh?

the only reason threads like these aren't closed is in case somebody has something to add to the original topic, such as information on how one might go about hacking a bit of it. If people keep bumping these threads though, they will have to be closed, which is really plain jerky, so stop being selfish.

Kapeesh?

And shining, I take offense to that comment.

Well, I'm just starting to learn assembly and I plan to stick with it. I already am very good at higher level programming, so it shouldn't be too hard. The hardest part is learning how to use all the WIN32/API functions; the basic concepts like registers, dereferencing, the stack, etc come pretty naturally to me.

Yeah I figured.
It doesn't seem that I'm the only active member who knows assembly after all :p
