Eehhh...
I like my theory better.
Although, yours could explain why he lost his key in the first place ^.^
Still, the Reverse Psychology thing's pretty funny and makes fun of everyone who killed themselves on those spikes :D

There's a save point in Santa's house. Maybe it's not just the save point he's heading over to Chaco's house for?

Why didn't Santa want to get his key when he had a gun that shot white-hot plasma?

because he's afraid of Cuthulhu who watch him all nights, if he blow up his door Cuthulhu would come into Santa's house.

Maybe Mimiga's can't use guns, because of some evolution feature...
It could explain why the solider Mimiga's were cut out :D

That, or Santa just sucks with a gun and's burnt his foot a number of times already, trying to use the Fireball..

It's possible that he had it in his house.

Or the Fireball has too much recoil for him to use, but Quote can operate it just fine because he's a robot.

The fireballs would have to be incredibly heavy.

Well, Santa's all furry and stuff, and that's white-hot plasma, so it could set him on fire when he tries to shoot something.

Blue-hot* {Level Three} :p
{After white comes blue, when it comes to heat}

But where did Santa find the Fireball in the first place?
Perhaps it was originally from one of the other Robots the came to the Island's weapon, and so can only be used by another Robot, for some obscure reason? =D

Huh, makes sense. Maybe the weapon has some sort of hardware lock which only allows robots to use it. After all, you certainly wouldn't want to have your weapons used against your soldiers...
But I still think that Santa would have used the Fireball if he hadn't left it at home.

It was from Arthur.

Santa lost his key on purpose. He's too lazy to wander around Grasstown himself. And he hates asking for Chaco's magic help to get to the other side.

And he did that because...?

Aiyo kadauulei

He's willing to give away his gun because Quote found his key. It's like making a donation, just indirectly.

It's possible that he had it in his house.
The irony of that made me laugh.
"OK, I've lost my key. I can't get into my house. If I just had the gun that's insidde my house, I could fight the monsters and get the key back."

Oh, and it makes sense. "I'll leave the plasma gun at home. If I'd shot the water I'm going to draw, it all would just evaporate. That's much worse than having to worry about monsters."

But of course, for a person with a death trap in his house, this feels like a somewhat logical thing to think.

Heh, you said it yourself. Also, why would he give you the Fireball inside if he had it all the time. And, he gives a weapon to a complete stranger in exchange for bringing him back his own key. That always struck me as odd.

Mayhaps the gun holds bad memories for him...?
He probably just grew back his fur from the last incident....
