Problem getting past the undead core.

The only reason why it would ask you to restart is because you either put Profile.dat in the wrong folder, or because you have deleted profile.dat.

Extract the "new" save into the EXACT same folder as doukutsu.exe (make sure of this) and rename it to EXACTLY "Profile.dat".

Your folder should look something like this:

I will send you an ENTIRELY NEW cave story folder with the new save included uploaded onto mediafire later today. I will then give you a link. When you follow that link I expect you to click on the "Click here to start download.." link on the resulting page which would show up in a few seconds. I would then expect you to extract it (I hope you know how to use .zip files) somewhere and run doukutsu.exe.

Joke, what do you have right now? As in when you load your game, what, or rather where do you get? If it's not the Prefab Houz then you ought to rename your current Profile.dat into something else. After that copy the idiot's save file into the CS folder, renaming it as Profile.dat. Then load your game.


Else, use Andy's help. Some people are too hardworking for no reason but forgive me for my own lazy ass that won't bother finding out what the original idea of the thread is, assuming that you need a way to experience Hell without having to force yourself through the first 4-bossfights rally.

Oh yeah, if he's reading this, he just needs to rename the NEW file exactly "Profile.dat" then delete the old one, then MOVE the new file in.

You're almost there. Click the print screen button.

Then, open MS Paint. Note that it's not Naru's colouring tool or anything, it's a complimentary application you get along with Windows. I give you a hint, press the windows logo near the left "alt" key, click, or just highlight programs with you mouse pointer, click or highlight accesories, then you'll find MS Paint, which you'll click.


After the application starts, press ctrl+v on your keyboard. The ctrl will most preferably be the left one. I meant pressing ctrl and v simultaneously, or ctrl first, holding it, then pressing v while your (preferably) little finger is still holding the ctrl key down. You can manage yourself thereafter, HOPEFULLY.




And sorry, but newbies don't have the right to feel offended (once they started something that makes them lose such a right). And I don't hate you, I hope I don't hate anyone.
