No you got 10k because the numerical value didn't change, just the function that displays the points rolls over at 10k.

 

GIR, the counter obviously uses base 10 for its rollover system. It's obviously a 16-bit value, with values after 0x2710 ignored completely, skipping up to whatever the hell number zarrot said

Yes because this is how addition/incrementation works on the x86 chipset. It can be hard to program sometimes, when you know that using ++ will eventually lead to maxing out the int value once you hit 10k, skipping all the way to 2,147,483,648.

I'll work on beating ZT's score later.

No, uh, it said "9999" for 2,147,473,648 of the jumps. The first 9999 would increment normally, the rest were simply shown as 9999 until I hit the top of the value, when it looped back to negative. The reason it says "00" is because the game's desperate attempt to draw a negative has no reference.

And no, you can't possibly beat me in this regard. TIE me maybe, but unless you jump an additional 2147473646 times after it loops around so the displayed value changes to "0", there's no visual reference of it.

Let's give him a bit more credit than that, Noxid. In fact, let's say he's really really good at pressing the jump key really fast, and maxes out how fast he can press it (it can either be done at 25 or 50 jumps per second given the fps, but probably the former. We'll use the latter though just in case).

So that means it would take him 2,147,473,647/(50fps x 60secs x 60minutes x 24hours x 365 days) = 1.36 years or so.

So if you were to extend the contest a bit, he might be able to do it.

Also just a quick note: There is no music in this as far as I know - get a music playlist so that when those who decide to stream and/or play won't make the viewer stare at blocks fall all day. If you get music, now you'll be staring at blocks fall and make lines.....with music.

Yet another game gone by and I can't even get the participation points, because I didn't get to finish it. I don't even have a screenshot to upload. I'm such a failure at life.


At least it's only Arbitrary Points, though. I'll probably end up with the lowest total of points in all of the forum, but oh well.

Instead of looking at vastly different photos of space, you can now look at 20 identical photos of a depositphotos man holding beer and eating a hot dog! Just unzip the contents to /res/graphics ! In case you want to switch back to the space, you should probably keep a backup of the photos in a separate folder.
